I've just had a look at their website - looks like a very impressive piece of kit.

The wood pellets look like cat litter though hehe
They seem to burn fairly quick too, I was a little surprised at how often I had to top it up. However they leave very little ash which is great

Exactly that. Here are some oven legs in China (again).

We were overwhelmed by our own success so we held your early purchasers' units back so we could schedule a bigger run and make more money is how I read their billy-bullst messages.

If we get our ovens by the end of this month I'll be on the couch with Gary in my undercrackers.

That's exactly how I read it. Not sure why, but I really took a shine to this company at the beginning. Innovative product, smallish business, and initially personal but professional marketing. However whilst understanding the need to make money, I think pushing the initial orders back to accomodate a bigger initial production run has taken the shine off the experience.

The summer has all but gone and if it doesn't arrive in time for the annual Cornwall jaunt I will be very disappointed.

I have the large one (paid £45 on ebay), it's really good.

Certainly worth £60 if you can't find it cheaper.

ETA - just to point out, mine's the one which sits on a Gas BBQ. Takes a while to heat up, unlike some the ones on this thread, but once up to temp ... pizza cooks in less than 2mins!

I was given a G3 Ferrari one for my birthday, it's absolutely brilliant, pizza & garlic bread in under 5 minutes.
Simple to use.
Made my own dough as well, makes the pizza all that much better.

So much so i'm making for a family birthday tonigt!

For those who don't have the space or money for a separate pizza oven one of these heated for a good half hour with the oven at full blast does a good job, miles better than a stone pizza stone

Roccbox now say (after querying their latest missive) that as I'm no 4hundredandodd I will get mine "a few weeks" from the end of July at the earliest. That's narrowed it down then.

Just in time for Christmas, I expect. Very frustrating and rather arrogant, since it's they who delayed the production run because of their huge success. Hmmmm.

Sparked up the pizza oven on Saturday and smashed out 11 perfect pizzas and two garlic bread stylie pizzas. Waitrose do a packet of tww frozen pizza dough balls and they are great at £2.99 per box. Some may say that it is easy to make your own. That it may be, for some, but mine have always failed. I haven't tried the fresh yeast but the ready made is perfect everytime. Why go through the hassle?

The trouble with making so many pizza for a meal for 11 is that it is really impossible to all sit down together, even doing them two at a time!

No Friday update again from Roccbox. I'm about 150 on the order list but as I leave for Cornwall on Sat morning I guess I will be packing the Son of Hibachi rather than the Roccbox!!

What dough recipe do people use? I seem to use a different one every time. The best one being a 3 day one, but it would be good to have a recipe that you can make an hour or so before cooking.

I'd think that's only a limitation if you're giving everyone their own individual pizza? Otherwise, why not just make the first two (or four, even, if they're only taking a couple of minutes to cook) and put those out for everyone to have a couple of slices each, then have a debate over what toppings to put on the next two and keep going like that?

Not a bad call Kermit. We did mull that over at the time but it is quite nice for guests to build their own and to be quite honest it is a pretty informal affair usually with everyone milling around in the garden and at the kitchen table, which is only a few yards from the oven.

I use this recipe i found online:

300G strong bread flour
1 TSP fast action yeast
1 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
1 TSP salt
200ml warm water

Chuck the dry ingredients in a bowl, mix with a spoon etc.
Make a well in the middle, add the wet ingredients (with a bit of the water), mix up, add a bit more water, mix further, add a bit more flour / water as neccessary.
I then leave it with cling-film over for say 30mins-1hr to rise, knead again, then use it for dough.
If you work out that a handful of the made dough will make 2 pizzas the same size as a pizza stone.
I knead it a bit, then use a rolling pin on a floured surface to get it super flat & thin, i've even taught myself to stretch now by hand, but i use a rolling pin as well.
3-5 mins in the ferrari oven & it's done, perfect evertytime.

Since i got the oven 10 days ago i've had to do 3 pizza parties for 8 people as they love it so much.
It takes more time washing the utensils up as it does to make the dough.

I use the same recipe for the base as i do for the garlic bread.
Then if there's any left over i roll it flat, add chocolate spread, roll up like a sausage & put in the pizza oven for a dessert.
Anything left over i freeze.

Really, really simple.
