Working in a restaurant. Is it anything like on TV?

Older chefs chasing young skirt (waitresses). Calling them tart princesses and all sorts!

Whilst shouting does occur, it nowhere as bad (staged at times?). Plenty of swearing on a daily basis though.

Chef i talked about every time he comes in all at stupid hours first thing he does is jump in the shower,then sleeps gets up and goes back to work,sod that.

So, given the amount of stress that pretty much ALL chefs face, what kind of salary do they get?

My ex-boss's boyfriend was a sous chef and apparently he was on less money than i was on as a junior part-qualified accountant (<£15k). This was early 90's though.....
