Blackberries, sloes, damsons, bilberries, apples, crab apples, feral raspberries, various mushrooms, wild garlic, prawns, brown shrimp, marsh samphire, lots of fish species, freshly roadkilled pheasant, elderflowers, sea beet, nettles, crayfish.

I eat hawthorn leaves quite often but really just to confuse people I'm with, they're not actually that interesting to eat.

Gorse flowers are also good for this although if they are growing in a really good sunny spot they can actually be quite sweet and tasty.

Wild garlic is brilliant for loads of things, as soup (with nettles - beautiful and rich), as pesto, in butter and mashed into mash etc even in salads.

Water mint makes lovely tea. Just take boiling water with you and shove the leaves straight in. Delicious.

Pick mushrooms occasionally. Wood blewit and puffballs being the best. Field mushrooms are always good. Jews ear are horrible though apparently regularly eaten in China.
