Toast the buns. Makes burgers SO much better.

As for the veggies... don't mow your grass, and they can snack on that smile

Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice. I've simplified things a bit but not too much... here's the final plan;

Beef burgers
Sausages
Chicken breast in bbq marinade
Chicken legs with dry latino rub
Veggie kebabs (peppers, courgette, haloumi, red onion)

Fatoush salad
Potato salad
Coleslaw
Gem lettuce with feta

Bread selection

So delete Waldorf and Veggie Burgers and added bread.

Its almost the same man!

I'm sure it'll be lovely, good luck!

Taboulleh

Job jobbed.
I'm a big fan of taboulleh but chose to give it a miss as I prefer fatoush and didn't want to have too many things to prepare. Will it keep if I prepare it the night before?
It would be even better if you made it the night before, gives all the flavours time to mix properly.

One thing that we sometimes do, but always goes down a treat, is gem lettuces cut in half and cooked for 5mins or so (cut side down only). Sprinkle of feta on top and maybe some mint once done. They go very sweet and even the most ardent meat eater friends have really enjoyed them

Bonus is they're dead easy to do.
This sounds very interesting. I'm having a small trial run this weekend so will give it a try :-)
Hope you like it smile Funnily enough we first did it when we had a veggie round to a BBQ when the rest of us were trying to see just how much meat we could all eat.

The poor girl barely got a look in on the lettuces we did for her laugh

I'd drop the chicken breast - they're really easy to overcook on the BBQ.

How about some prawns? If you're near a Costco they do frozen bags of 50 for about £16 that always go down well - stick some peri-peri marinade on them and chuck on the grill.

shall I ditch the waldorf salad? I do like the freshness of the apples.
My wife is Czech, and every Christmas she makes a traditional potato salad that also has apple in it. Works really well.

Went to an amazing bbq a few wweks back, they had stuffed seabass(lemons, chilli flakes and garlic butter) chicken tikka kebabs, peri peri chicken thighs and lamb steaks. Jacket potatoes were thrown on bbq too for the last part of cooking. Finally a vast array of salad.

Simple, delicious, not a dry burger in sight.

Agreed. Everything will be fully cooked over the coals :-) Even if it means a few guests get food poisoning.
