There isn't one that sells anything of any quality! Kemptons in Bitterne is the only place I found some even half decent Lorne, but other than that, not worth paying for as it's nothing like the proper stuff! There's a few places online where you can order it for delivery from north of the border, get yourself some tablet at the same time cloud9

Or make your own, mixed minced beef with pork sausage meat 50/50 and job's done.

Saw some recently in Morrisons of all places... said it was made in Scotland... might be worth a punt.

The Morrisons' Lorne is quite good, when they have it, it is Scottish.

I called Kemptons in Bitterne, no luck.

The big Morrisons at Totton didn't have any when I went and its miles from Hamble.

I found some cheapo rubbish stuff in Iceland.

It'll have to be mail order.

Honestly, make your own it is so simple. We started to do so when we, like you, were having difficulty finding any in the shops. We don't bother looking anymore as homemade are better.

You'll have to go shopping in a council shop.

Came here to say morrisons - either in the chilled meat or the freezer aisle.

Do you have any butchers at a local indoor market? That's where we get ours from in Coventry.

Tried the Morrisons offering once, never again tbh. Mail order or as mentioned above, find some good quality sausage meat and make your own.

Man I love this stuff - used to buy it frozen from Makro years ago - haven't had it for nearly 20 years.

Just need some fruit pud to go with it!

The stuff that Morrisons sell is made by Halls.

I tried Halls offerings before they went out of business and they were good.

They were subsequently bought by Browns, I haven't tried any of the Brown/Halls offerings so cannot comment.

As I say, making your own is really simple.

Just had a look on Morrisons website, and the Lorne sausage they now sell is definitely not the stuff we tried, so maybe doing them a disservice to say never again. Will have another test I think.

Even in Scotland Morrisons sells a few types.

1) Halls. I think it's halls anyway.. The sort that do those horrendous blended meat mash "breakfast packs" with the pale pink sausages. Avoid.

2) Simon Howie. Better, but generally too thin and I think when cooked they end up too hard.

3) Their butcher stuff.. Usually find it in the black poly trays underneath the other butchers cut meat. Phenomenal. Best yet. The only one I'll buy.

Remember there's a big difference between Lorne and Steak Slice. Think Howies do both with the steak slice being around £1 more for 4. My local butcher who happened to be my next door neighbor 25 years ago does the best steak slice I've tasted, £7 for 22.

Halls isn't Halls as was. Halls now, is merely a brand name bought by a competitor. Whither or not the new stuff is the same or better than the old stuff I have no idea and am unlikely to discover as home made is best.
