I have seen pigs stunned in the stunning pen and it's not relaxed for them at all, being chased around by the operative with the tongs.
I haven't, and you would have to be out of your mind to start chasing pigs around a pen with tongs as this is the easiest way I know of producing PSE meat that nobody wants to buy. Anyone giving a pig a stressful time in any abbatoir I know finds themselves in the office very promptly.
Excellent. I didn't want to use the term Pale Soft Exudative as I'm not qualified but was taught about it. I used to work for a slaughterers in West Bromwich (B+B) and in 1990 they had a pen, sending a number of pigs in at the same time. One chap would stun, another would shackle. I agree it would be poor practice and surprised they did it.

In answer to the original question: let's hope not. Why should we eat meat where the animal brutally meets its maker, to placate the people that demand it, as part of their religious faith? No method is great, but some are more humane than others.

Even stunning, then cutting the throat isn't good enough for some of them. smfh

Animals have to be slaughtered in a legal way. Halal or Kosher , but slaughter houses catering for Halal and Kosher will not slaughter pigs.

They are all halal because they are Kosher.
Are you being a troll, genuinly ignorant/stupid or just plain racist ?

Halal and Kosher are not the same. In theory they use similar methods (though from my understanding there are more methods used for the actual killing with halal than the single clean perfect blade stroke for kashrut). I believe both have prayers said, though obviously different as they are different religeons, and both are done under supervision, but their own regulatory bodies.

Now I have known some Muslims who would consider kosher meat to be halal if there was no alterative, but I beleive that is rare (plus halal is normally a lot cheaper than kosher). I have never know a kosher keeping Jew who would eat Halal.

Can you please tell me how Kosher food such as the link above happens to be both halal and kosher at the same time?

Jews don't eat Halal, so it can't be halal according to you, so which way is it?

It's more of a thing where muslims just don't like jews, so won't eat their food as ridiculous as it sounds.

It is clearly stated in the Quran “The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them.” Sura 5 - Al-Maeda (MADINA) : Verse 5

Yes they do. Religion is seldom black and white, people comply as much or as little as they want, I know plenty of Jews who eat meat curries which is Halal, I also know Islamics who drink alcohol. There is also talk of a naughty pork curry house in Bradford too, but i've never been.

Back on topic; there is actually a Halal/Asian meat counter at my local Tesco, never seems very busy though.

I wouldn't think that the meat you get fresh off the shelves is halal. Being east london my local supermarket has a seperate section at the back that's essentially a butchers that only does halal meat. any other halal food is sold in the world foods section, which is usually very small, just 1 end of isle shelf area.
