Hi everyone

I'm trying to find a pub, as above. Any one have any ideas?

We've been to the two Henry's but my wife didn't enjoy it. Looking for alternatives. Any thoughts gratefully received.

I can't really help with the OPs question, but looking for one near Lincoln/Newark.

Being new to fatherhood I haven't ventured to any yet, but meeting up with some uni friends and kids, so thought that a soft play type place would be better than our usual country pubs.

Generally speaking are there any better ones, or are they all going to be hellish for the adults, especially the one couple that don't have children?

Avoid like the plague.

Ones with outdoor play areas can be ok, but indoor soft play are best avoided as you won't get good food or beer and it will be stuffed with feral chav kids.

Same rules/expectations as any 'fun' pub.

What you can do does depend on how old the kid is. We took ours out to all sorts of place when he was a baby up to about 9 months he'd been to two Michelin star pubs. When very small they just sleep. It's when they get mobile/vocal that it's harder. When they first try soft play you will be in there with them so that's not nice for having a chat/drink either.
By the time they are old enough to hold their own in a soft play they will be old enough to sit and draw/colour and you can go somewhere nicer again.

Owen has been to some nice places with us, but there are going to be 5 kids with our group, from 5 months to 7 years. The other parents have suggested softplay.

Talked them into going to a country park, then pub after!
