Nice place to eat: Shrewsbury / A5
Discussion
Short notice I know, but we're heading to Caernarfon tomorrow (before getting the ferry to Ireland on Friday) and at lunchtime we'll be just getting off the M54 and onto the A5 at Telford.
We have two kids aged 20 months and 12wks, so gourmet pub lunch isn't what we're looking for, just a nice spot for us to all have a break and a bite to eat.
Given the distance we'll be traveling I don't want to make a huge detour off the A5 if it can be avoided.
Thanks in advance

Or you could try the Three Pigeons at Nescliffe. Just off the A5 a few miles past Shrewsbury. I haven't eaten there for a year or so. www.3pigeons.co.uk
Maybe worth a try is The Bell at Tong:-

It's certainly not "gourmet" grub, but reliable enough provided you're not expecting anything exceptionally cooked. It is large, though, and does have a very big garden with kids' play equipment where you can also eat.
