It's not going to cause me sleepless nights, but I don't get the comment "You don't get any idiots in as they don't sell Carling / stella / strongbow and the like" and then illustrate it, twice, with pictures of Diageo lager. Enjoy your brew smile

To be fair, you can guess the kind of place you're in if you're having a pint at 9.52am. wink
A few Sundays back - 9am breakfast and a couple of pints in this place.

Very nice it was too - beer, the full English and the pub itself.

is that the place on London Bridge?

Yes.

Its a dump full of tourists on day trips from Basingstoke, I've been a couple of times while killing time, they don't have anything pleasant, I think I was resigned to peroni.

Neither a dump nor full of tourists - certainly not a 9am on a Sunday, anyway.

On both of the times I've been in there is been full of tourists, obvious given its next to London Bridge. It's also got a poor beer selection and the food is the same as any other pub from that brewery.

There are plenty of good pubs within a short walk of there, Bermondsey St has a few of them.

£5 a pint everywhere in manchester city center, you get used to it - whenever I'm in london I'm actually suprised at how cheap it is!

I won't buy more than one if it reaches £4. I think mid £3 is what I would consider reasonable.

That's for York which can be fairly pricey. If I went West I'd expect closer to three quid.

Agreed. Other than decor, totally uninspiring in every way - probably 500 better pubs in London alone.

ETA - Some people's idea of 'craft' ale is entertaining.
This is what a craft beer bar looks like, and there's not a pint of San Miguel in sight! http://www.thecraftbeerco.com/brixton/

Though in fairness the beer fridges are well stocked with Belgian strong ales and the like so not all bad.

I drink in a craft type of place with about 80 bottles of craft beer 20 ales and ciders etc. I drink their german pils at 4.5% and £2.65 a pint. Last week they had an ale festival and all ales were £1.50 a pint.

You don't get any idiots in as they don't sell Carling / stella / strongbow and the like and it's fully refurbished with very attractive bar staff.

Also does homemade porkpies and scotch eggs for two quid a go. Have a picture of the nibbles.

The irony of banging on about not serving Stella and going on about their craft beers when you're sat with a pint of mass produced crap lager from Guiness in front of you...

Yeah, I had a stalker moment and found them on Facebook ... the Red House Boutique in Stourbridge. Looks nice. They still sell San Miguel and Hop House 13 on tap though, £3.10 a pint smile

Drinking Guinness in a bar in Brighton over Christmas, £5.40 a pint so £3.80 or whatever sounds reasonable!

Got circa 3.70 (or thereabouts) change from 20GBP for 4 pints of Guinness and one pack of crisp. So basically a billion quid for a pint.

Won't be bothering again.
God I wish it was that cheap... Close to £5 pint for larger...............

pint of birra moretti in the local is 4.95, pretty mental. That's just a pub in Northampton

I normally have budvar now or proper job, I think they're cheaper but it's not really worth looking. it is what it is, a good pub so will pay.

The landlord is keeping that under £5 for you, it should be more eek

Exactly - we sell Warsteiner for £4.20. For a "standard" GP it should be well over £5 but we won't sell at that in order to please our many regulars who drink it. We just have to take the hit.

Trust me. There's no money in wet-led pubs (naturally there are some exceptions but they're rare).

To anticipate the question - we make our money (which amounts to fk all) on the food. Yes, wine is proportionally profitable but is a small part of our turnover. As are spirits.
