We adore Petes Eats and have done for 30 odd years ! ,Tried the "Curry House" but whilst it was fun and a good atmosphere .The food was seriously poor . Its like been in France at times. It all shuts down real early!

Is there anything local that you can eat nice food these days . It was hard enough last year just getting a good coffee and that was in a climbing shop !

Thanks

Bill

The café at the top of Snowdon.

It's a fair walk and rather expensive. (although they don't have a lot of competition)

Victoria hotel does nice puddings, but really there's fk all in Llanberis. Beddgelert has a number of options.

That place is heaving with 'trippers" !! But after a good go up the miners (No...it isnt a sexual innuendo !) Its a treat .

I used to live within walking distance of Pete's.

I'm glad I don't any more, I'd look like Mr Creosote.

Apart from Pete's, Llanberis is a culinary wasteland.

However... The Sopna in Llanrug (between Llanberis and Caernarfon) is a great Indian, and there's the excellent Hebog in Beddgelert (around 30 minutes drive).

Sorry....Hebog is not our idea of good ! . The food looked very "Heat and eat" at best .And certainly not worth the price . It seems no one in this area has been to London etc and seen what people want. Coffee !!! Holly hell they haveno idea. The best coffee in llanberis in in "K2" climbing shop. Next you need to go to Porthmadog to "The Big Rock" which would destroy anything around Snowdon for good value quality /trendy food.

Best food If you want to spend a bit "Gwellyn Arms" .where we had some "chef" cooked food.

Llanberis isn't a cosmopolitan capital city unless you haven't noticed. You'll like The Saracen's Head in Beddgelert: Does pub grub at hugely inflated prices and may even do coffee. Not sure they'll be able to keep a straight face if you ask for a cappuccino though.

I thought Hebog Bistro was good, we are going again in the next couple of weeks. I agree on the Cwellyn Arms though, always had a good food in there.

Regarding the 'It seems no one in this area has been to London' comment, I don't blame them, they live in one of the most beautiful areas of the UK. I would't go to London out of choice, Bedgellert most definitely.

Try the Vaynol Arms about 10-15 minute drive away in Pentir. Alternatively, take a trip just over the bridge to Menai Bridge in Anglesey which has a wealth of good eating places - Dylan's, The Hydeout, Liverpool Arms etc.

Thats ok, real men only drink Black coffee .The "others" take Milk ! But I could see a place working well if it offered better food etc As its not the locals who are you customers. There are thousands of visitors from all over the world there. And they could do with something a little better

But still 'Petes" wins hands down for the best Vibe when its packed and "rocking' !

Yes, you're right. We've been over to Caernarfon for a meal before now.
