Interesting it says pick riojas but also avoid big producers. I find Campo Viejo Rioja is a reliable bet..but that falls into both camps.

Am I drinking rubbish and enjoying it? I would t be surprised.
Yeah odd as I drink the campo stuff and think it's fine. Also though I prefer the yellow label normal to the reserva but that article says the reserva is better. Perhaps I'm just drinking rubbish also.

The Campo is a tenner over here but I'll give it a try, this is today's wine for a tenner,

French and 14% from a wine merchant. Tasty

That €12… it’s not worth that!

Maybe worth £5-6 given higher UK tax on wine.

This is a good one that’s dropped under a tenner on offer in Waitrose:

They do a Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre for Waitrose which comes up on offer at 6.99 quite often. Not the most sophisticated wine, but very good for the price.

The picture tells a story but It didn't pair with the cold roast duck and chips, however I had some small cave Roquefort in the fridge and the bottle was saved.

Just looked up how much my Big Reds subscription from Laithwaites costs - £133/case, so £11/bottle. Don't remember getting a bottle I didn't get on with.
