Soft drinks that don't contain artificial sweetners
Discussion
Mentioned this a few times in threads on here but we found out that aspartame is a migraine trigger for the other half. Must have been 15 odd years ago.
The vile stuff has never been allowed in our house since.
It's everywhere now. As said above, full fat Coke and the Belvoir stuff is mainly the only mainstream stuff left without it (or any of the others) in.
You have to be careful with tonics too. Fevertree and bizarrely Aldis full fat ones are ok.

Can anybody tell me the shelf life for Belvoir Farm Orange Cordial, Amazon only sell it in six packs, that could last me 18 months.
I'm just on my last bottle bought 12 months ago and it's fine. The fruit bits settle at the bottom so needs a good shake before use. If you have Ocado delivering in your area.... https://www.ocado.com/products/belvoir-natural-ora... I expect that is significantly cheaper than Amazon too.I've just done a post code check for CM16 4AF which is Epping locale and they deliver there !

I'm not generally a soft drink (or water) fan but don't have the side effects the OP and others have. I've always hated the taste of low cal drinks, no matter what they say, they just taste bitter and saccharine to me.
I've been working in Brazil on a project for the last 6 months and discovered this lovely drink which is available in full fat or diet versions. Hard to describe the taste, its a small berry fruit unique to the Brazilian Amazon, its not overly sweet, sharp or tangy, just a nice smooth refreshing thing. Rather than carting it back on my monthly trips, I found you can buy it at Brazilian/World food stores and can get it through Amazon (no pun intended). If you get a chance, give it a try:

Dunno where you're located but Irn Bru 1901 doesn't have any sweeteners in it I believe. The vile stuff has never been allowed in our house since.

Hopped kombucha, they do a few flavours and all “no-added-sugar” and no sweetners.

Following up on my thread above about the odd tasting Coca Cola.
After opening another tin and noting the odd smell and taste, I got in touch with Coca Cola and they requested I return a sample of the drink which I did (3 tins). (this after asking for batch numbers and so on)
The drinks were sent to them early this month (2nd Jan) with a promise they would get back to me with their findings.
I have followed up with a request to know their findings but nothing has been forthcoming as yet, apart from a request for the parcel slip from the post office (which I supplied).
Based on the taste and smell of the product, I can't help thinking this was a 'miss fill' and the tins were filled either with diet coke or coke zero (yuk!!).
I have put this theory to them, but they are remaining steadfastly silent.
So they've either lost the products I returned, or don't want to divulge their findings.

They claimed the product I returned was never received and asked for proof of postage (which I provided).I was issued with £7 worth of vouchers and that was that...
I was pleased to see this thread exist though. While I don't have any negative effects from sweeteners, I just hate their taste in soft drinks, it is nice to know there are many other wise PHers around. I'm a member of some other groups (e.g. on Facebook) that are against them too.
Since I'm here I may as well list my currrent go-tos:
1. Coke (includes Coke Lemon)
2. NOT LIGHT San Pellegrino Lemon (this is rare compared to the light one but you can get it in Waitrose)
3. Irn Bru 1901
4. Karma Drinks (any)
5. M&S Clear Lemonade (a particular one)
6. Fever Tree NOT tastefully light (I think the tastefully light don't have sweetners either mind)
7. Belvoir + M&S Cordials
8. Franklin & Sons almost everything
Dishonourable mentions for ruining things substantially after the sugar tax:
1. Pepsi
2. Fentimans (mostly - some are still fine but fk em till they bring things back, I felt this one in my soul - how dare a local northern company force me to use a London one like Franklins... look guys even Beamish told you where to fk off to. bds)
3. Rio
Finally - don't forget Todd's Drinks (formally Enerzaid). I was a kickstarter of that and thus on the tasting panel. People at work thought I was insane but they always think that anyway. I don't actually buy any as I was only interested in the Irn Bru rather than Lucozade replacement really but anyone who wants that (whether original or orange) should support the man. If he brought back the lemon lucozade I'd probably buy some.
