Actually, i'm suprised none of Robinsons brews have been mentioned. They do some cracking Ales. - www.frederic-robinson.com/beers/

Agreed, the Best Bitter or whatever it's called now is a fine session beer. Old Tom is fantastic, but not in such quantities...

Splendid old boy, I look forward to sampling some of the Summerisle brews (have you christened them yet??)
I might turn up for the practice if possible, Im going to check the site and entrants in a moment...I'll let ya know old bean
certainly a good day to come - no constraints of the normal event - the guys are free to attack the hill when ever they are ready (record i think is 18 runs by one chap and last year one fella did 16 runs to ensure his Evo was up to scratch) half of them have forgotten which way the track goes... and the other half have forgotten to tighten something important...
All good fun.
hmmm 5 weeks to go... should still have some Summerisle Porter... might try n get another on the go, not sure if that would be at its best in such a short time.

Green King IPA
Surely not!
Some less common but excellent suggestions:
Butts (Hungerford) Barbus Barbus 4.6%
Dark Star (Brighton) Espresso Stout 4.2% or Hophead 3.8%
Highland (Orkney) Orkney Best 3.8%
Thornbridge (Bakewell) Jaipur IPA 5.9% - now there's a proper IPA!

is it 5 o'clock yet
sadly not....
Top friday afternoon thread posting...
Abbot Ale (Greene King)
London Pride (Fullers)
6X (Wadworths) - my favourite ever pint, but I think it must be tricky to keep as it's hard to find it as it should be.
Timmy Taylor Landlord
Bombardier
Badger (only seen it in London)
Mitchells & Butlers used to produce a nice session ale, XIB or something, not sure if that's still around the West Mids.
And various others I've sampled on my travels. Mmmm, ale

That will be my target date then
I see the admission prices have gone up 20%????
Still worth it
Summerisle Porter...it has a ring to it for sure!
Im just going with the digital camera this time around, practice my highspeed shots rather than video
My current Top 10 (in not particular order)...
Theakston's Old Peculiar
Bombadier
Spitfire
London Pride
Young's Winter Warmer
Abbott
Innis & Gunn
Pedigree
Speckled Hen
Sevenoaks "7X"
In moments of insanity I might up the anti to Fuller's ESB!!
Anyone in Dublin or London (Covent Garden) should also check out An Brainblasta at The Porterhouse...... the Porters are very good too!!!!!
ETA:
If you do venture to The Porterhouse in Maiden Lane, Covent Garden... it's also worth checking out Sleemans Honey Brown Lager on tap at The Maple Leaf, it's an unusual but surprisingly good Canadian beer that would suit the palette of both Lager and Ale drinkers... also, on tap at The Bear in Twickenham.

Harvey's Best, if well kept, has the most delicious burnt hop aftertaste.
Give that man a biscuit (or a packet of pork scratchings). Best ale in the UK... and you can get your own draft experience buying one of these... www.harveysonline.co.uk/acatalog/Harveys_Online_Draught_Harveys_Polypins_20.html
I should be on commission.

That sounds fantastic, I haven't seen it around, any idea where I can get some?
I've found it in Sainsbury's and bought it once to try - never again though. It's a bit strange to be honest, like beer with scotch in, but not in a good way.
6X is brewed down the road from me, and is the best beer in the world. Equally fine as a single refreshing pint, or an all-day session beer.
Incidentally, this thread is probably the appropriate time to mention that the Bitter owners club mag is also called Best Bitter

I'll have to try some, will post my opinions as and when. Also, what a fantastic collection of cars, love the look of the Bitter SC and the Bristol 410; and despite not being able to say the same for the looks of the Tatra the idea of an aircooled, rear mounted V8 is, hmmmm....interesting.
