Had two bottles of this yesterday from the Greenjack Brewery in Lowestoft. Very pleasant tasting beer.
The name of 'thier' pub escapes me at the moment. It's at the top of the old high street in Lowestoft. I always pop in there when visiting friends in Corton as the selection is always drunk

I had two of these last night from the Tydd Steam Brewery near Wisbech. Very pleasant, with a dry hoppy taste.

My friend had a 70 pint barrel of Tydd Steam's Armageddon for his birthday in July. Went down a treat, good to see the brewery doing well.

Fantastic drop - triple hopped. Sharp, fruity, flowery. Very well balanced bitterness.

(Oh and the butler told me it was £1.39 a bottle from Aldi at the mo'... I got mine delivered by my independent ale consultant at £17 a bottle though obviously...)

I'm normally a fizzy lager drinker but have found myself becoming partial to Timothy Taylor's Landlord. Lovely stuff.

Had two of these last night. They were superb. Had it on draught before but not bottled. Really great taste with a big hint of citrus.

A friend gave us 3 bottles from Wood's brewery last night;

Shropshire Lass (my fave of the 3)
Shropshire Lad
Hopping Mad

Was reminded it's Swindon beer festival tomorrow at the Steam museum, may have to see if any tickets are left (but suspecting not.....)

I like Shropshire Lad.

Also, if you like the above this is good stuff:

Shropshire Gold from the Salopian Brewery.

Had a couple of bottles of this the other night, very tasty beer. Slightly more hoppier than the Oakham Inferno I had a few days previously.

How'd I miss this thread? I was just about to start one on Ales, thought I'd search first.

Over the last year I've become a massive ale drinker, I don't tend to drink larger at all anymore, its expensive, makes me bloated and tastes crap!

Out and about I tend to try something new every time, a few holidays a year to the lakes sees me trying loads of different ones. At home its more mainstream, such as bishops finger and London pride (my favourite 'have in the fridge' currently). I'm lucky that I live near 3 brewery's and recently got a mini pin for me and a mate to go through one night, good night!

Recently on a visit to Austin, I went to a 'local' brewery over there and really enjoyed them. Some were a bit extreme of the flavours, but thats America for you. Looking forward to being back in the Lakes soon, to sample some more brilliant British ales.

Rebellion and Chiltern brewery's are both near me, both producing some of my favourites.

If you can find it, try Woods Wonderful: dark, delicious, with lots of damson jam / smoky malt notes. One of the original Woods ales when it started back in 1990.
