At present I've discovered a great liking for Oakham Citra. They sell it in my local Waitrose. Really pleasant tasting beer.
Cracking drop of stuff that! Had a very pleasant pint of Asylum in my local on Friday evening. 4.5%, slightly darker than Citra, but full of the same lovely tasting citrussy hoppy flavour all the same!
Must also mention how much i've been enjoying Newby Wykes range of pale ales just recently. HMS Queen Elizabeth (6.0%) and Bear Island (4.6%) are spot on at the moment!

Old Rosie Cider (OK not an ale but if any real ale types ever fancy a cider try this one)
Oh well as Cider has been mentioned I may as well continue the theme. If you get the chance to try "Rattler", personally I think its fantastic but it seems to be a love/hate thing .Had rattler at Dorset steam fair last year and the morning after was murder.... Just opening my eyes that is!!

There are some good real ale pubs around me, but they tend to be out into the villages a bit. 'Spoons is by far the cheapest as well as serving consistently good ale, although there are two or three others that I try to frequent, well, frequently!
I'm lucky where I live, most pubs have a few Ale pumps, and I'm not sure if its planned, but most of them have different ales. So you chose your pub depending on your fancie.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
