Yep I know - just thought two bottles might be good option there is lots to try at £50 a bottle. £100 on one bottle - I'll have a look................

Aberlour A'bundh ? Have just bought Batch 39 but not opened as yet. I have got 4/5 different batches and not had a bad one yet.
Glenfiddich - Snow Phoenix is wonderful. The Distillery only 15 is also very very good but you have to go to the distillery to get it. (or know someone that is going)

Glenfarclas, Glendronach, Glenglassaugh (of course), Benriach, Tomintoul, Glen Garioch and a couple more.

You might be able to get an upgraded Glenfiddich tour if you let the Balvenie guys know what you want to do (the distilleries are next door). you can bottle your own Balvenie in Warehouse 24, which is pretty cool.

I must admit I'e been tempted by this myself , I tend to avoid marketing gimmicks like the plague but this seems to have real quality as well as a cracking story behind it. On the other hand, £100 almost gets you a bottle of Lagavulin 12 AND a bottle of 16, we'll see as they say.

I've got a bottle of the Dalwhinnie and its lovely, very light, a little sweet, but with character and flavour in abundance. Its a dram that you can just keep pouring. Looking at what you enjoy this would be a good addition !

you can bottle your own Balvenie in Warehouse 24, which is pretty cool. Did that one 2 years ago. Lucky me !! Only one on a Monday afternoon in early April. The tasting was !!SPECIAL!!. My £25 was returned about 10 times over. Bottles from hidden cupboards and drams from very old casks. Main reason to go is to get a Solera this time around.

Given the size of the barrel and the limited quantity of spirit you have what are you going for; Three years ? In fact, why not get some old bits (off cuts) of a PX barrel for instance and put them in any old container if all you're trying to add is the flavours of the barrel or am I being to simplistic here ?

Doing something vaguely similar but instead of going for full maturation (and 3 years would be a very long time in a cask that size!) I'm going to try and finish a single-cask (9yo refill barrel IIRC) Highland Park in a 2 litre cask.
The cask was brand new so I've filled it with a gorgeous Barbadillo PX. It has been seasoning for 3 months, at some point I will bottle the sherry again and fill the cask with whisky.
See how it goes and repeat!
I was out on the lash with one of the chaps from Glenglassaugh and a french whisky blogger in Elgin on Wednesday night. Great fun and a great learning experience, both guys with exceptional palates.
Apart from that I've not been drinking much and the old blog has suffered a wee bit.
Cheers lefty
(And no, Podie, it's not f'kin ready yet!)
CM, have you got my mobile number? Give me a shout when you're up here and we'll get together for a dram (and maybe a tour or two?) Anyone like to join us? Coneyhurst Blue?
That Port cask still has to be filled...
