Caught up with a well known Whisky expert the other day.

He's said this is something to watch out for, not a nice price though.

I love the gold and double black so reckon the deluxe would be pretty nice. Not sure about the price though

I bought this yesterday, kitchen roll to try and highlight the colour - it's crazy!

You sure it's not coke? biggrin
hehe I've never seen anything so dark, even drams from a 50yo sherry butt.

It's incredible stuff, nothing like you would expect tbh. It's not that sweet, very very spicy, almost like liquorice. I assume it's PX rather than Oloroso, it's hot that slightly rubbery smell to it. Very intense, it's an experience but oddly unsatisfying.
This stuff is growing on me. It's quite soft, very velvety. Huge sherry notes, needs a lot of water to tame it. Bloody good though.

Hic.

Anyone know where I can get one of these?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005UXM000/ref=wl_it_dp...

Has to be that exact expression. It's just my favourite.

Hmmm, looks like my traditional morning dash for Ardbeg Day might have been scuppered!

Worth pre-ordering a bottle of the new one, or let this year slide?

Blimey, going to be difficult to track down.

Have you tried calling "Hard to find whisky" or looked at auctions?

So then, after 9, yes, 9 hours of trying to buy 2 bottles of Ardbeg Auriverdes and probably 50+ attempts to process my order (after having inputted my details, address, delivery address and all of the other malarkey) I'm sitting here with zero bottles (I wanted 2) and a huge sense of wondering "if you know you are going to have huge demand for your products, why the hell would you not make sure you can cope with it?

Mega frustrated... Harrumph!

Same here. I even got to enter my card details a couple of times, but the order never went through. Not impressed grumpy
Still, I guess it will be on general release over the next couple of weeks, so I'll pick up a bottle then.

I read that Ardbeg made 6600 bottles, and Master of Malt are expecting further allocations. Others probably too!

When I was up there last year, they were really pushing Ardbog. We had tastings, there were posters everywhere, matching glasses, aprons etc. in the shop.

"Oh no, that sold out within an hour of going on sale."

Having calmed down - ok, having sobered up after a heavy weekend - i e-mailed the distillery on Saturday basically asking if there was any way they could help me get the bottles i wanted. Funnily enough, no response as of yet.

Also, i don't really think the problem was with Ardbeg's site but the operators of their e-commerce site. I must have input my details well over 50 times and every time i finalized the order it either said there was a problem or put me back to the shopping basket page.

I can't remember having this problem buying either Ardbog or Ardbeg Day bottles - i wonder if they've changed their e-commerce operators?

Irrespective of that, pretty poor form from Ardbeg.
