Right lads, looking at adding a bottle or 2 to my collection in the region of £150-£200.

I have got the bruichladdich black art 3 so was thinking of the black art 4?
I did have the bunnahabhain 18yr old and so looking at the 25yr old?

A slightly cheaper option was the highland park dark origins?

Cheers
Josh

Afternoon,

Is this for drinking? I recently tried the Highland Park 18 and didn't enjoy it at all. I am big fan of the Dalmore 12 and it's relatively cheap. Have you tried the 12?

Can say I've tried the above so can't comment.

Hi Mr Trophy

Yes, these will be for drinking. IMO I don`t see the point in spending the money for it to gather dust and not be drunk ( but that`s just me smile )

I have got the Dalmore 12 already, but it is still unopened.

I have the 4, but as yet it remains unopened. I am still getting through my Octomore 06 and others. How is the 3?

The place with the back to front tour - and rudely pushes you along in the shop to make way for the next tour, who will mostly go away with something of low value compared to the substantial sum you were wanting to spend. And if you want any samples - forget it. I even recognise the guide in kilt !
They do some nice bottlings though (own and indie bottling range) - their cask strength sherry decanter is a favourite.
Apart from the obvious (damn - drat furious), where else are you going ? Where are you staying ?

Oops.... paperbag

We stopped off just to grab a bottle from the shop!

Visits start tomorrow at Aberlour, meeting up with Lefty on Wednesday to check out the PH casks and then Balvenie on Friday.

Hi Podie,

Just managed to get a connection from a extremely hot Egypt !
Have a great time at Glenglassaugh, I hope the cask are maturing along nicely - can't be long now 'Lefty' can it ?
Pictures would be fantastic if you get a moment ?
Have a great day.

Will do sir! Pretty sure we can muster some photos smile

Looking forward to seeing the actual casks, and be good to meet Lefty after all these years!

Spent a very enjoyable afternoon reading up on the history of various distilleries - I hadn't realised just how incestuous the whole business is.... and it's not until you drive around the area you realise there is almost a distillery on every corner!

Works out at a bit more than a bottle (sorry, not helping).

Must be time to consider the next batch of casks! smile
