I have the triple cask 12yo. The 16 was tempting but as it costs almost as much as the 21yo Port I passed.

I've managed to get my nuts on two Macallan Rare Cask - only problem being they're in New York as it's only for the US Market. I want to bring both back with me but I don't want to risk customs taking one off me, so one coming back in December then the last in July next year!

Lots of offers in Waitrose today. Not sure how great they are, but there's plenty of them!

Not bad Mr Trophy and Podie! Is one of the Rare Casks for keeping?

I really hope to be getting one or two very special bottles tomorrow, but suspect there will be some stiff competition. Crossing my fingers and will be hitting F5 a lot, wink Will let you know how it goes - already very excited! biggrin

Don't worry, it's not ebay so you're safe, wink It's just the Norwegian/ Swedish systems. They release the new stuff every few months, and publish what they have a few days before so I knew what was coming. They don't deliver outside the country though - I think due to alcohol and proving you're old enough etc.

So, got the orders in and depending if I was quick enough then I will have up to:

(Diageo Special Releases)
2x Lagavulin 37yo
2x Talisker 1985 (27yo)

(Others)
2x Bowmore Devils Cask 2
2x Arran Devil's Punch Bowl Chapter 3
1x Laphroaig 1989 (23yo). This one is aged in sherry casks and limited to 1800 bottles for the Scandinavian countries.

But need to wait for confirmation before finding out if anything was already sold out before I know what I have got.

I am not sure if it's the whole "buzz" or not but the Bowmore Devil Cask II is the best dram I have ever tasted and I've tasted a fair few!

Bloody hell. The Lag37 was hugely expensive when it was released. I wonder why some were held back for the Scandinavian markets. I tried some of the Talisker 1985 and it was lovely. I have also found a couple of bottles of the Laph 1989 in Germany but they are asking a lot for them.

On another note, I just found out there was a a new Ardbeg release over the summer; Kildalton 2014 which was only available at the distillery. Is it just me or are Ardbeg really st about informing Committee members about new bottlings?

Sadly I never got the Lag37 ones. It was a bit "too good to be true", since it was being sold for around £900 which was a really wrong price. Just got an email saying the supplier hadn't provided them, so cancelled that part of the order. I'm not sure if there was some kind of error in their system, or if they have realized there was something wrong and will update it with a more realistic price at some point. I wouldn't normally consider paying that much for whisky, but if I had got them then I could have sold one to pay for the other, biggrin

The Laph 1989 is for sale for around £150 here, so it's not cheap to start with. There is still some available, so if anybody wanted I could get it delivered here and send it over for you.

Yes, they didn't seem to make much noise about it at all. I think they were also going to release it in limited quantities in Sweden and Germany.
