Prices of the Yamazaki Sherry Cask 2013 is scary. On auction at the moment for £600 and still got until Monday when it ends...

My collection is growing but I'm planning on reducing it a fair bit over the christmas period.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but with Johnnie Walker Green Label now discontinued, has anyone else managed to get hold of a bottle or two?
Already becoming sparse in a lot of the offies round my way, and going up in price in the ones that do still have any left.

It was discontinued about 1.5 years ago. Have 4 bottles at home stashed away for my retirement (about 35 years from now hehe)

i had no idea you could spend so much on JW - I've not tried a whole lot of it but always assumed it was pants due to its popularity. I guess not, or is this just rarity value. I always assumed the brand mainly did blends, too!

You can spend a hell of a lot more than that on JW.

They make some great blended whisky.

Green Label is (was) a great blended malt.

Pity they discontinued it.

1.5 years ago? Wow, I only just heard a couple of months back. Have got a few bottles (ok, seven!), all picked up for between £30 and £40. Think I'll hold on to most, where as some won't be making it past December 25th!

Have a look at blue label...

The cheaper ones are actually pretty good, JW black is a perfectly pleasant dram. Double black is nowhere near as good.

I find blue label watery and nondescript. Plenty of much nicer whisky at similar prices for me.:

I'd advise buying another bottle of the Yamazaki. Once you open it, it'll go in a week.

Just been through T2 LHR and they have the new travel exclusive Glenmorangie Dornoch. Tried it and it's very drinkable stuff indeed.

Finished in sherry butts it's got a smooth rounded flavour and a sweetness to the finish that is Moreish.

If anybody really wants a bottle I can maybe pick a couple up over the next week or two as I move here and there. First 2 to PM me. 60 quid in DF. Can collect from me in London week of 15th...
