I hope everyone is enjoying their Christmas whiskies.
I managed to open the Kildalton on the 24th and if you have a bottle I can only implore you to try it. For me, it is best Ardbeg bottling since Ardbeg Day. The Maker's Mark 46 was also opened along with a GlenDronach Single Cask 19yo and both come highly recommended. Oh, we also managed to polish off a bottle of Nikka NAS which is a great basis for Irish Coffee.

The Penderyn is very nice. It needs a bit of water to make it come alive though which took me a while to figure out. I've had this one and the peated version before and they're both good whiskys.
The Nadurra sort of slipped into my basket whilst doing an online shop at Tesco... it's one of my favourites. I've not had the 12 YO one before so it will be good to compare them back to back.
The Old Pulteney was from my birthday earlier in the month. It's not one I would have normally picked but it's good stuff and seems to have evaporated in the winter sun!

So I think I need to thin down my collection a bit. There's not many things of value, but a couple of bottles that I don't have great attachment to and seem to bring decent money.
Who have people used to sell bottles through before? Do places like The Whisky Exchange deal in bottles outside of those from wholesalers, or is it off to auction?

TWE will only go for certain things. You can ask, but I've had no joy - even with things still in demand like Snow Phoenix or Tun 1401.Who have people used to sell bottles through before? Do places like The Whisky Exchange deal in bottles outside of those from wholesalers, or is it off to auction?
Specialist auctions are an option, but I've had more success buying / selling with people on here!
Anyone tried the Adnams malts? I got a bottle of the No1 whisky for Christmas, but wondering if I should grab a bottle of the grain too, or if it's too soon... I know both of the whiskies are as young as possible, and it was an exercise to bring in money and not hold onto casks before more storage was available.
Anyone have any experience?

Just opened a bottle of Laphroaig quarter cask, and I've registered my one square foot of Islay.
So, do I have any neighbours on PH?

My old man is a shareholder, so got in early on these. Sadly, we were really disappointed. Average at best, and over priced.Anyone have any experience?
The "Spirit of Broadside" is lovely though...

So I happened to stop at a newsagent I never went to locally, and this was sitting there... Not the usual rip off either, so one for the cupboard I think.
In your photo is a Coronation Rum Kukri. I have one of them, given to me by the Nepalese Battalion Unifil in 1994. I drank the rum and filled the Kukri with tea 20 yrs ago, still looks good.F-Stop Junkie said:

Tried everything after the tour a couple of months ago and was unimpressed. Trying to be too different. New wood and young spirit was too much for my palate.Anyone have any experience?
Impressive German still setup though - worth seeing.
Ended up with a bottle of gin and spent all my whisky money at St Georges.
