Now I see why the Bowmore is hard to get rid of, you seem to have bought 1/2 of the production of it, biggrin

Surely a two way relationship can be found here, happy birthday for you from me, and you to me from the local releases there?!

What variations of Dalmore are these? And what are they like?

I had a bottle of the 12 year old (I think) last year and it was very nice, really big sherry flavour. Been meaning to get another bottle but I may branch out a bit more this time smile

It's the Dalmore Custodian bottle - 12 year old.

I am shocked that these can still be picked up. There was only 421 bottles of these released. The next batch will be released this year and then again in 2018 with a total of 1263 bottles.

I am abit of a Dalmore fan so will open this up on a special day.

I just popped in to do the shopping at my local Waitrose and found that they had Aberlour A'bunadh in, 4 bottles and each one a different batch!
The batches were 49,48,47,45.
I was very surprised as another Waitrose up the road has Batch #50 only.

Anyway, I grabbed a bottle of 47, as I remember 48 not getting such a good review from Ralfy.
It will get opened once I've polished off the batch 50 - which I have to say is stunning.

Any recommendations as to what to try next chaps?

I'm only a recent convert. Last 2 have been Aberlour 10 and Yoichi 10. I really liked both, but the wife wasn't so sure about the Yoichi. She likes 'em peaty.

So any suggestions? Maybe something that'll keep us both happy? Budget would be around the £50 mark.

Aberlour is a typical sherry malt - not peaty at all.

Do you want peaty, or do you want more of the same?

If you want sherry, maybe try a Glendronach 15 Revival.
Something slightly different - Auchentoshan 3 wood
Bourbon barrel & peated - Glenglassaugh Torfa
