Please let us know your thoughts on this.
Will let you know tomorrow smile
As promised -

Colour - Dark and mouth-watering raisin

Nose - Clean and complex with muilt-layers of dried fruit, nuttiness and spices with some marzipan and vanilla touches to it as well.

Palate - Rich, oily and full with pleasant dried fruit and spices that linger on in the mouth plus a hint of fine coffee.

For reference, the above is not my notes, however, I will absolutely take full credit for them hehe

I added a splash of water (2 drops) and it opened it up even more. A very nice dram indeed - definitely one for the sherry lovers (Mr Podie cough cough)
Thanks.

Sounds right up my street.

Ordered. smile

Good stuff, let us know how you get on with it. Cracking neat or with a small splash of water.
Had a couple of drams now from this. It needs to calm down a little yet (I always prefer my spirits once they've had chance to breathe a little) but first impressions are very, very good.

It's much more complex than anything else I've tried yet, and that's down to the smokiness. Nice long creamy finish, sweet on the nose and a sweet, salty, smoky flavour (I'm not that great at pin-pointing and describing flavours!).

Absolutely love it - just need to not get through too much too quickly as I'd like to give it that time to air a little. But then we're getting into rum season so I'll be re-stocking those supplies soon which will serve as some distraction smile
Good to know it meets with approval, I spout about it, as I seriously beleive in it. First noticed it because of a gushing review, something that normally wakes up the cynic in me . As I had small experience of Bowmore, I thought why not, and grabbed a bottle. Was astonished , proof that great vfm whiskies are still to be found.

Just been told that I won a ticket to Whisky Live in London tomorrow party

I have not been to this event for quite a few years so I am curious to see what it has evolved into.

Has anyone here been in the last year or two?

Wonder how many people will get the "wrong" bottle though, since they have lots of different cask numbers in their releases.

Interesting point. MOM clearly stated it was the award winner. If it's bot, it's going back.

It seems the MOM one isn't the correct one, it says 57.8%, whereas the one in the award is 58,6%. Unless they haven't updated the site. It seems to be very messy trying to work out these bottles, they're effectively single cask releases but with the same name and often the number of the cask is missing with them being sold under only the Solist name. So the alcohol % then becomes important, but because of there being a lot of releases some have the same % and so it's getting a bit messy.

Just noticed they also have one with 57.7%... The naming on these bottles with the lack of cask number reporting is going to cause a lot of unhappy people I imagine!

Interesting conundrum....

This shows how difficult it is to get the right one (there's nearly 30!). They also seem to vary in quality so it makes it a big issue getting the very good ones and avoiding the poorer ones:
