Did you try Bowmore devils cask? It was lovely and interested to see if it's like the 15/18?
Not on offer unfortuantly, more the mainstream from a supplyer along with thier range from Laphroig, HP, Suntory, Glenrothes and something else, but i was pickeld by that stand of the event! Maxxium iirc was the supplier? http://www.maxxium.co.uk/brands/

Thanks. I'll purchase a sample of the darkest on MOM for £5.70 and see what it's like!

Hibiki 17 is a really good whisky. More of a bourbon taste than whisky but a lovely blend. The 21yo is even better.
I'm kicking myself for buying a full bottle Hibiki 17 and a half bottle of Hibiki 21 coming back from Japan. Should have gone the other way around!

The 12, for me, is a younger tasting blend, with the sweetness and punch of the plum liquer cask finishing. The 17 is much more traditional and complex in flavour. A real masterpiece to e savoured and enjoyed slowly.

Yep, I like it. Bolder than most GFs, with a bit more too it. Peppery almost, quite spicy with a good long sweet finish.

It isn't showing as available in Waitrose, but it is in Waitrose Cellar, unfortunately at £50/bottle (Asda is the same).

I have to say that I was very dissapointed when this came out in supermarkets. I travelled up to the distillery itself and bought this as something that I believed was a distillery only bottling, about a year later it was practically everywhere. I felt lied to and it lessened my enjoyment of it, I know it is silly and that it shouldn't but it has.

Back when Lincoln Christmas fair was on, managed to get into the whisky shop and get minis of the Bowmore 15 and 18. Tried them side by side. I liked the 15 (but thought it bettered by Tempest) , but the 18 was a storming dram, if there was not already too much in my stash , I'd have had a bottle of 18 smartish. Both well worth trying.

Get yer Bourbon! http://uk.reuters.com/article/2015/04/21/us-usa-ke...

No wonder Papay Van Winkle is so hard to get hold of!

Pretty sure a lorry load of top notch bourbon was hijacked, a year or so back, any idea if its the same people? Having said that, sounds like these people were rolling it out the back door.

Got around to opening a bottle of Tamdhu 10 year old last night that's been sitting on the shelf for months, and have to say it's very nice and very morish.

Well worth picking up a bottle at between £28-£34. smile
