I will be sharing it with friends on the ski trip at the weekend, so looking forward to it. I've really been wanting to try an Octomore, but Norway hasn't sold any sadly. They don't allow stuff over 60%, as it's classified as a drug, which rules quite a few of them out. Just saw the Ardbeg Perpetuum will be getting released here in May for £80, which is not bad! Another of interest (to me) is the 31yo Glendronach Grandeur for a good price (relatively). Big fan of theirs, so will try and pick one up. Have you got any interesting bottles on the way, or taking a break after that lot on the other page?
I will be grabbing (hopefully) a couple of the new Ardbeg on Monday but I have managed to spend so much recently that I should hold back a bit. Having said that, I'm flying back to the UK at the end of the month so will have a nose around Duty Free. My GF came back after a weekend away with work and bought a bottle of Dornach which I was very happy with and I have some Mars and a couple of Octomores waiting for me at my parent's house. Need to get some of the new Laphroaig too.Mr Trophy said:
If you're going to pick one up and can pick up another... I'll take one of your hands...
Well I hope I can get 2. That's the way it normally happens with Committee releases. Then hopefully my GF will also get 2 and I can add a further one to the collection on Ardbeg Day!It is really a very good bottling

Good luck with getting them! Buying a new set of ski touring stuff now and planning a holiday to Patagonia this year so know how you mean about having to reduce whisky spending a bit! Maybe I should just sell one of The Jokers - with the price they're going at it could mean quite a few new bottles instead... Dornoch sounds good too...Mr Trophy said:
To be fair, I absolutely hate the stuff - however, good to have a bottle away for the collection!
Shocking these collectors who never bother drinking the stuff, Don't open that Ardbeg yet.. Profiteers got it on auction quick.

There were bottles for sale at the whisky messe last week. 300 Euros a pop which is a bit rich considering it's £75 at the distillery.https://www.whiskyauctioneer.com/lot/010008/ardbeg...
Have fun on Islay. I need to try and get back there at some point in the next 2 years.
Finally got myself a bottle of Jura Prophecy whilst it was still on offer in Sainsburys (£40). Interesting to compare it with Superstition. Prophecy definitely has a longer finish, slightly more peaty but I'd say Superstition is smoother and smokier. I have to admit I think I prefer Superstition, but then I've not had a lot of the Prophecy yet.

To me Superstition tastes like a blend of Prophesy and Origin (10yo). Personally I prefer ProphesyKeep going back to this since opening it a couple of weeks back and have to say it's lovely, very smooth with no 'spirit' burn, it's like drinking toffee. Highly recommended for Speyside fans, in fact personally I like it far more than the Arbelour 16 & Glenlivet Nadurra that are open on the shelf at the moment.
Heads up...
Aberlour A'bunadh Single Malt down to £36.50 via Ocado
Normal price £40+, very rarely discounted.
Best online price I can find is £40.33 at Master of Malt.
If you've not ordered from Ocado before you will get a £10 first order discount if you spend >£60, so order two bottles and get them for £63, or £31.50each, making it an absolute bargain for one of the best Single Malts you can get.
If you've not tried A'bunadh before note that this is a cask strength, usually around 59-60% ABV.
