I wouldn't call myself a collector or even a connoisseur, but I've accumulated these over the last few years:

Finished off the last drop of the Macallan 12 last night, prefer it to the Macallan fine oak 10 triple cask.

Had a sample of Old Hobart Overeem Sherry Cask Matured - wow, what a surprise. If you like bold sherry flavours, it's worth a go! May well get a bottle!

I found that the Airport had Bookers at about £25, instead of the £80 you get here! Also Makers Mark cask strength is more widely available now in the US.

If you're in the area, I recommend the Bourbon Bar at the Intercontinental Buckhead. Good food, but a great whisky selection. I recommend a Governor cocktail too.

Glencadam 14yo Serry Finish. Incredibly good value for money. I can only say buy it.

I'm looking forward to next Sunday as I will be visiting my parents and I can unwrap some whiskies that were delivered over the past 7 months. The only problem is that I cannot remember how many bottles are waiting for me hehe

If they've sampled them it may not be the same number of bottles as you ordered !

Dragged the missus up to some distillerys this week. First and definitely not the last time I'll be up. Ended up at Glenfiddich, Balvenie and MacAllan. Picked up a few bottles of each. The 15 year old Glenfiddich straight from the cask is a cracker. However the Balvenie tour was just fantastic - as was the dram of the 41 year old !

Belated thanks for this chaps - sadly I didn't get enough downtime to do much exploring, but I did manage to chat to a barman in the Perimeter Pub (not a pub) who recommended a measure of Blanton's:

Worth a try I'd say smile

Also picked up a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 at the airport for $22! That's my cocktail bourbon sorted for the rest of the year hehe

I do love the 17, but it's getting very pricey... Will be interesting to see how the Hibiki Harmony stacks up in comparison.

I can get it here for around £78, it seems to be up at the £100 mark in the UK. Not 100% sure I would get it at that price compared to other stuff. I guess that will be a big question with a lot of Japanese stuff in the foreseeable future.

I have some Blanton's at home. Very enjoyable. Did you know each horse on the cork has an embossed letter from "BLANTONS" so you can collect them all!
party

WT101 tastes like Weetabix to me, but at $22 I'm sure I could cope.
hehe

Hope you get it on time!

Anyone signing up to try and get the Laphroaig 21yo? It seems to be a good approach in regards to the smaller bottles (more people able to taste it) and the ballot removes the servers crashing and spending ages hitting "F5".

What a lucky day. I just popped into Waitrose to get something for dinner, and as usual glanced at the Whisky section.
There on the shelf were 2 bottles of Bowmore Darkest, discounted down from £51 to £27.50 to clear.
What a bargain.
Needless to say I had to have them both.

Happy Days.

That is a real bargain, good work! It's a proper drop too.
