Maybe an Auchentoshan Three Wood? It's a very smooth whiskey with a little bit of fire to remind you it's a spirit, but mostly it's a great flavour. Tastes a bit like liquid whiskey toffee. In fact the only reason I don't buy it more often is that I could comfortably drink the whole bottle, which would leave me feeling jaded fir a day or two. You can get it from Tescos for £46 a bottle: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/details/?id...
I'd forgotten this piece of advice!By happy chance I decided to take a driving holiday to Scotland and the nearest distillery was Auchentoshan, so I signed up a for a tasting session and a tour. They are the only distillery in Scotland to triple distill donchaknow?
Got to try their virgin oak, 12 yr old, cask strength and 3 wood offerings and liked the 3 wood best. My BiL is soon to be the proud birthday recipient of the bottle and 6 Auchentoshan whisky glasses. The bottle was marginally cheaper than at Tesco's; £43.75.

I picked up a bottle of Coull Point in duty free last November, and think I've recommended on here before.
For such a young whisky, it really is very nice and feels like something at least twice that age. I'm looking forward to tasting some older bottling from Kilchoman..
Yep, going to try some more too. For such a young whisky, it really is very nice and feels like something at least twice that age. I'm looking forward to tasting some older bottling from Kilchoman..
Edited to add: My wife has just brought home a bottle of Glenmorangie from Sainsbury's on offer at £25.

I like the occasional whisky but ended up winning a bottle of Johnnie Walker Quest at a charity auction at the weekend. What's the best way to store as I don't want to ruin it. It Didn't come in a box and has a small dent at the blue metal on the neck. Does that affect it's value? Was not planning on drinking it but more of an investment.
