I like the occasional whisky but ended up winning a bottle of Johnnie Walker Quest at a charity auction at the weekend. What's the best way to store as I don't want to ruin it. It Didn't come in a box and has a small dent at the blue metal on the neck. Does that affect it's value? Was not planning on drinking it but more of an investment.
In addition to what krallicious said - if you are going to store it then put it somewhere out of the light and upright. If it's on it's side the alcohol will damage the cork, and sunlight will affect the taste with time.Edited by Jer_1974 on Monday 5th October 16:41
Just back from the UK and got a 1 litre PX cask Laphroaig, plus the 15yo Benriach Sauternes finish, and a small Bruichladdich Islay Barley.

Hillside retails for around £700-750 from what I've seen.
Hmmmmm There's a few bottles at home I maybe shouldn't have opened..

Yikes indeed. I had one of the exact same release and drank it a few years back. I didn't think it was particularly special either...
Was it worth it? Since the French are one of the biggest consumers of single malt in the world, and are Aberlour's largest market by far, I'd imagine that French whisky might be quite good.
How have you found it (assuming you tried it already)?
