In a tribute to Coneyhurst Blue's bust, I thought it fit to buy a bottle of Glendronach and have it sent to the office... the Green Welly Shop's 50th Anniversary release seemed a fitting tribute to our fallen comrade-in-arms...
I also accidentally purchased a Benriach 15 Sauternes Wood Finish
... and some herbal goodness.

Everywhere is sold out of this Kavalan NAS single malt, but it's absolutely delicious, fantastic dark fruit flavour. So imagine my surprise walking into Waitrose this lunchtime and finding 4 bottles on the shelf at £40 each ! They're not there now !

i haven't seen kavalan at my local one - then again, it's not massive (not quite a little one, either). i did get four bottles of clynelish 14 earlier this year reduced to £25 each. Just finished the last dram from a bottle of Armorik Double Maturation.
Recommended purchase !! Will be buying another - but already have a bottle of their Millesime waiting in the wings for a future opening.
Not available everywhere - lucky for me - two York stockists, plus the big online retailers.
And on the purchase front just managed to bag one of a limited number of Whisky Lounge memberships - at half price - sold out in an hour after a 5.20pm email - excellent value and many drams to follow in 2016. Emails on your phone brings benefits, to offset the cost of always being on call (unless you have battery failure / no reception etc when it suits). Almost as popular as Glastonbury tickets.

Found these in a late family members house. I know nothing about whisky as I don't drink it. The chivas regal has bought in 1989 written in the inside, the tin box is tarnished so it looks old. The dimple must also have been in the house for the last 20 years.
Can anyone tell me about them and their value.

the chivas and dimple 12s were/are 'deluxe', mass-produced blended whiskies. is the dimple was bought in 1989, it's fair to say it was bottled that decade. the same may be true of the chivas. on whisky auction sites, you would be looking at selling for around £20 each - £30 is being generous, and i have seen the chivas sell for as low as £15 in the past. the glenmorangie 10 is again widely available today and 1980s bottlings sell for about £30-£40 at auction - although i have seen it a few months ago as low as £22. the bottle could be from the 1990s - i cannot quite see if it says 75cl (up until 1991) or 70cl (1991-). either way, prices should be similar. then you have to factor in cost of postage per bottle, auction fees and vat.Can anyone tell me about them and their value.

You'd be better off drinking them, but you say you don't drink whisky.
I'd be tempted to give them to a charity for XMAS.
