I had a bottle of the Naked Grouse.
Nothing that really stands out but it was very pleasant and disappeared pretty quick. Not a million miles from a good Grants bottle.
Plenty raisin spice and a warmth about the mouth. Certainly not a patch on my favourite malts but very worthy of a spot in the cupboard for a regular drinker.

It might not be a 5 on a the Lefty scale, but it is an interesting dram for a regular drinker. Slightly more complex than a standard branded blend.

Lefty said: Sorry for my lack of inoput to this thread of late - been rather hectic ClassicMercs, remind me when you're coming up this way. April sometime? Would you and your good lady be interested in the Glendronach DDB&B I will get around to replying to your last PM sometime - hectic !! Just got in. Anyone else run SAP in a manufacturing co - just about to go live in 10 days - and all I feel like doing is hitting the bottle ! We arrive 28th for the two weeks. Glendronach sounds good - but you know the stories about Yorkshiremen - all true I'm afraid. We do want to do Glenglassaugh though - so if that fits with Alex and anyone else etc etc, Glendronach equally would just be a 'standard' visit. Planning exact itineraries is going to be last minute the way things are working.

Hello Jim, it's been so long, feel like I should call you Mr Beam...
A dip back into Jim Beam Black, combination of deep spices and vanilla against floods of sense memories of a misspent youth and the many nights between lectures...

My old man has just donated me a bottle of something he got when my uncle died a few years ago. I enjoy a nice whisky however im not not going to confess to knowing a massive amount about it....if anything.... He has told me that my uncle enjoyed a bottle..or over 50 apparently that were found in the garage. Ive taken a couple of photos if anyone can fill me in a bit about it, dont know what its like or what its worth. Apparently its about 30 or more years old but I dont know how reliable that is.. Sorry about the quality of the photos I only had my pants blackberry to hand.

well, as of tomorrow it will be the first day in 3 years that i wont manage a whisky brand of one form or another. I've got a one way ticket to NYC to head up our Tequila biz. It'll be a big change, but i cant wait =] here's the beauty: im sure i'll be back...maybe for one of the real big Scotch brands

Thinking about it. What you should have circled as well is the bottle of pigs piss thats hiding just to the side of the English whisky - that's made in Belgium...

If you need some Scottish flavours to keep you going the Highlands bar in the West Village is really good.

Browsing around Tesco's, spotted a blend I've not seen before.
According to the details I read, it's called Lochlan, and claims to be a blend of 8 year old whiskies.
No clues to it's origin (to me at least) , anyone tried it as yet?

So its very new to the shelves. And there were comments that its out of White & MacKay. The bottle doesn't look that bad - nice labelling to help sell the stuff.

I should have known, google answers most things these days I agree about Tesco's, but they do Cragganmore 12, on promo sometimes , which I like from time to time, saves turning to mail order. Not a top scotch of mine, but makes a change . Incidentally, for wine lovers they have Zalze ,a South African Shiraz Mourvedre Viognier blend. at £4.99 . Its a corking flavoursome easy drinking Red. I normally get it from Waitrose where it usually sells at around 7 quid. Its a good buy at that price, but an absolute steal at a fiver. Highly recommended to try if not tried yet.
