Hi there,
OK its been around for a month or two now in a few selected places so has anyone tried the new Haig Club Single Grain Whisky ?
https://www.haigclub.com/en-row/home
We've just had our first couple of cases arrive into stock so it should start to find its way out to some of the bars we supply across Manchester and the North West in the next week or two.
Its a bit of a strange one but I quite like it. It does seem to be dividing opinion though

Any thoughts ?

Isnt it being advertised as a mixing whisky? Cant be that good if they suggest you disguise the taste of it to drink it. But Ill wait unti Ive tasted it before I moan about it. Ive just ordered the Master of Malt Advent Calander so missed the chance to get a sample of David Beckhams news drink. Until next time!Edit - just seen Master of the malts have a sample for £4.85, I'll order this tomorrow.

Quite right too
Quite right too
Right, I'm about to be bankrupt !!
Glengoyne 25 year old really, seriously is another drink altogether. At £240 a bottle it's expensive and I can't afford one a week but it's the most perfect whisky for me. You don't know what balanced means until you've tried this. I can't adequately describe it, the tasting notes are spot on and unlike cheaper whiskies, I can really taste the fruits, the long stewed flavours, the oak and the slight zestiness. It's *the* most fantastic whisky I've ever tasted.
The Macallan's are very nice too, also sherry matured, like Glendronach - the 22 year old is particularly nice as is the 15 year old revival.
Have a complete set of Glengoyne and they really are the best distillery for my taste, with Macallan and Glendrinach not far behind, but the 25 year old Glangoyne is a league or several leagues above anything else.
Edit: Just to say The Balvenie is also awesome, the single casks are so light and fruity, ideal summer whisky or where you just want a fresh dram, really nice and quite different from most whiskies.

I got these two on my trip to the UK. The Glendronach (19yo single cask) was from the whisky shop in Aberdeen, the Balvenie (Tun 1509) in the airport. They had around 8 other bottles of the Tun if anyone is interested and having difficulty getting hold of one.
I am after a tun 1509 but it's proving to be a pain in the arse getting hold of one. I've seen them on another site but they have put the prices up Mr Trophy said:

How much are they there? It's £250 in the airport. If I remember right you're in Aberdeen, so could you get someone to pick one up if they're passing through?ETA:

It's the same as cars - people get used to the higher prices advertised and so over time the price goes up. I wonder if there will be a price jump in the Tun 1401's now, with this being a bit above the £200 mark? And I guess the problem is likely to be MoM will sell out very quickly again. I'm looking forward to the start of November - when Norway normally releases the stuff they've gone in recently so could be some interesting stuff there.Absolutely bananas - I am Edinburgh.
