Having a good day. I was out shopping in Waitrose and happened to notice (as you do) they had a bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh Batch #41 on the shelves (current batch is #50), alongside more recent stock.
They said it was old stock :-), but were clearly unaware that batch numbers have any meaning.
So that's another one for the collection. I now have 2x#50 (1 open), 1x47 and this #41.
One of my favourites, and I love being able to sample earlier batches without paying crazy money.

I have got back from a week sailing around the Western Islands. Managed to anchor off Ardberg and get a few Perpetuum. Had tried it in the pub in Port Ellen the night before, lovely stuff, one of the nicest whisky I have had of late.
