My Committee Release turned up (at long last) this morning.

Time for a dram this evening, I think.
Ditto - 2 bottles sitting under my desk, in the middle of planning how to get past security at home without being noticed.

So far i've decided Tom, Dick and Harry might be involved...

I informed Mrs W that they were a sound investment.

The raised eyebrow indicated that she might not have been entirely convinced.

Only the normal 10yo for me tonight. Seems most friends prefer peat bombs to a more delicate sherry influence.

Just a little heads up...

Balvenie Doublewood 17yr old is currently reduced from £77 to £50 a bottle in Booths supermarkets.

Love the stuff!

Thats a great deal.
Unfortunately the nearest Booth's to me is 200 miles away.
I'm jealous.

Could be worse, mine is a 2300 mile one way trip, apparently around 39 hours, wink

Any idea what this might be worth 83 of 334 bottles produced. I think it is from the 1980's.

Looks like they go for about £130 ish at the Glasgow Scotch Whisky auctions, not including buyers or sellers premiums.

Having a good day. I was out shopping in Waitrose and happened to notice (as you do) they had a bottle of Aberlour A'bunadh Batch #41 on the shelves (current batch is #50), alongside more recent stock.
They said it was old stock :-), but were clearly unaware that batch numbers have any meaning.

So that's another one for the collection. I now have 2x#50 (1 open), 1x47 and this #41.
One of my favourites, and I love being able to sample earlier batches without paying crazy money.

Picked up a little bottle of Aberlour 10 year old from Morrisons tonight.

Wouldn't be at the top of my list, but it's only £21, so that'll do for when drinking too much.

I have got back from a week sailing around the Western Islands. Managed to anchor off Ardberg and get a few Perpetuum. Had tried it in the pub in Port Ellen the night before, lovely stuff, one of the nicest whisky I have had of late. Also got a Springbank 18, so a good week in all.
