Try adding chopped fresh corriander to the mix instead of celery.
Oyster shots are ace. BM mix in a smallish glass add freshly shucked oyster Mmmm, kind of cooks/pickles the oyster...and the drinker
Oh, and has nobody mentioned topping off the BM with dry sherry floated on top

I drink then when I'm travelling & fancy a drink (or breakfast as you could class it) when beer, wine or a short would seem a bit "wino".
I also drink them whenever I fancy 'cos they're bloody tasty........
Tomato is an antioxidant dontcha know, so they're really a health drink.
The best one I've had was made by a barman in the Eurostar terminal at St.Pancras. Nearly died of thirst waiting for it mind.
The worst was in a boozer in Brighton between the Station & seafront that claims to be famous for making the best!
Bloody Mary & a bacon sarnie. Bliss!

Something I'd not considered before, sounds good.

On a whim I bought tomato juice and vodka yesterday as I felt Bloody Marys were something I needed to get into.
Looks like I was a few ingredients short, seeing as I tried just vodka, tom juice and tabasco.
TBH that is a Bloody Mary, well a basic one Looks like I was a few ingredients short, seeing as I tried just vodka, tom juice and tabasco.
Though it is a step up from Bloody Mary Soup, which was tom soup, Lea & Perrins (lots of) Tobasco sauce & a large vodka tipped in
Proper Bloody Mary Soup is nice.

What about the tomato juice?lots of vodka (horseradish if you can find it!)

Here are some variations:
2 (46 ounces) cans tomato juice
1 (10 ounce) can beef bouillon
1 teaspoon coarsely-ground fresh black pepper
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon Accent seasoning (MSG), optional
4 ounces lemon juice
1 (5 ounce) bottle Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce to taste (for heat)
Combine tomato juice, beef bouillon, pepper, celery salt, Accent (if using), lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce. Mix thoroughly. Refrigerate.
My receipe is along the lines of
Large tall glass.
Loads of ice in first.
Use a fine grater (microplane) for a little fresh horseradish.
Add a generous pinch of celery salt & a good grind of pepper
Dash of dry sherry
Dash of canned beef consomme
Slug of Tabasco
Stir
Top up the ice if needed
Add a good amount of cold vodka
Top up with Big Tom (seasoned tomato juice)
Guzzle.
It's best made using two glasses, so you can be mixing the next one whilst drinking one.
For best results, stumble round the garden afterwards trying to cook lunch on the BBQ...

Doh!
alternatively use Clam Juice for a Bloody Muddle, so I'm led to believe.
There are a few different Variation on Wiki.
