Christmas is always a delayed celebration in our family, as a date for the whole gang to be free comes round.

Have been baking for the last few days; the cakes and biscuits in the photo are a token sample of each thing made, total production running well into the hundreds so that people get goody bags of their favourites to take home.

Key: Fruit cake, poppy seed stollen, vanilla kipferl (the crescent-shaped ones), heidesand (a German form of shortbread), almond spekulatius, rum balls Sacher torte bites, lebkuchen (choc and iced), and, of course, mince pies.

A less adventurous day's baking today. Just some cupcakes for work colleagues (for my birthday).

Double chocolate, double lemon, and marble.

(Excuse my complete inability to decorate cakes neatly!)

I had a punnet of raspberries spare... and won't be at home for the next few days to eat them.

As with most dilemmas in life, cake was the solution.

Dark chocolate and raspberry brownies.

Not exactly buns but attempting to do this

And due to being hamfisted they weren't quite as epic as hers, however adding cheese and a splash of balsamic is like putting chip wallpaper over a multitude of sins...

8 to 9 out of 10 for a first attempt, really good flavour.

They look great! Seriously - I'd be reaching for one of those for a drinky snack!
