There are no pumpkins at our supermarket. Can you buy pumpkin in tins?

Note to other competitors, before voting for the prickly one next time remember what sort of ingredients he chooses. Vote Andy ! biggrin

Regards

Andy

Go all Heston Anna, pumkin and lamb smoothie, or shreddied wheat stuffed with a kofte kebab in a pumpkin sauce.

I think what we need is some lamb roasts thrown into a V8 blender with a few whole pumpkins... wink

Aww you know I love Heston!
Well I am having a little bonfire party at mine at the weekend, and have a recipe which I think will go down well for a cold wintery night. Not fine dining, but good hearty grub smile

Actally that is quite Heston, sounds of the sea and all that? Having something hearty on a cold night is like having fish and chips on a pier on a cold winter night at the seaside, the cold and salty sea air makes it taste better, same for your meal. Good luck.

I've got bonfire night as well, I'm copping out and doing baked potatoes in the oven so nice and crispy with filling of curried mince, or prawns or cheese ( boring I know ). They keep warm for a long time and I don't have to worry about cooking when I am setting off the fireworks.

In the old days, oop north, they used to serve black mushy peas and also parkin. Has anyone else tried that?

Apparently it's a Lancashire thing, so I've been told - hence why this Yorkshire girl didn't know.
Soak peas overnight, then cook them for ages and serve with salt and vinegar. Simples!
