You try it - buy a 2 pint normal 'Tesco' milk and a 2 pint Cravendale. Open both and leave in fridge. I guarentee you 'Tesco milk' will go off first - and cravendale will last another week or two yes It just stays fresher because there is more filtration and less 'bacteria'
Pasteurisation kills bacteria (but not all) by application of precise heat for precise time; filtration gets rid of them by, well, filtration. (Obviously you only have to leave one spoilage organism in and it eventually will go off - ie not sterile). A more extreme form of pasturisation is UHT - ultra heat treated - which as the name suggests lasts even longer.

ETA: What the heck is this to do with toasters? Ah - you can sterilise milk with a toaster. Righto.

Wash your hands and your nails slide off? hehe

One of our toasters recently died.Another way of putting it, would be that it stopped locking in the down position (it got progressively worse over time and would spring up at least 20 times after frantic button pushing before finally starting to toast) and that I dragged it into the garden via the power lead and replicated the hammer throw event with it.
