I prefer a liquid desert. Whisky or Brandy.

I do love cheeseboard at home as a nice snack, really fussy about cheese though so it would have to be concocted by me so I get the right amounts of what I want

I don't like strong or blue cheese without sweetness
So plenty of grapes, apple or cumberland sauce
I don't like jacobs cardboard crackers, prefer the sweet cheesey crackers or thins

This is the advantage of not dining alone, one has dessert the other cheese.... If I really had to choose, then dessert as I rarely make them, especially if it's an assiette, there are very few cheeses on the average restaurant menu that you can't source easily.
Agreed. One of the major upsides of having a g/f was being able to cover twice as much ground on the menu then share.

ETA: Worst 'Single again, looking for a new g/f' attempt ever... hehe

Cheeseboard for me. Hopefully a nice crunchy cheddar, agood, runny brie and some nice blue, possibly a Stilton or Dolcelatte. Ooh, and some Manchego would go well too.

Cheese board if it looks good - must have grapes, decent crackers/biscuits and a strong, nutty and crunchy cheddar. Port and black filtered coffee with brown sugar to be served at the same time.

If there's no cheese board then I'll have a dessert with a warmed brandy after.

Cheese board and a glass of port. Unless the cheese board is unimaginative in which case it's a pudding and coffee/dessert wine.

Yeah, but they're allowed, what with it being their language and whatnot.

I'm with you on that but being a greedy pig, I'd also add a munster, langres & reblochon.
