Wasn't sure if to put this in the Food section or Home, i'm sure it will get movd if it's wrong. Now I know there have been food processor threads in the past, but from memory but times and viewpoints change.

I've always wanted a Magimix, but have been quite taken by a kitchen aid one.

What are people's opinions and is there any others I should be considering.

I didn't bother with a stand alone processor, I have a Kenwood Chef and the high speed slicer attachment. I use the Chef for baking and bread making and it saves having yet another gadget around.

If I'd had more money I would have bought a Kitchen Aid mixer and the food processor/slicer attachment for that but it was all a bit more expensive.

I still covet a Kitchen Aid set up though....

Thanks Piglet, yes the brochure I have, has a Kitchen Aid mixer in it and it looks superb.

They look very cool and feel very sturdy, never used one- but £300 can't be false economy?

Always used a Kenwood chopper/mixer, but it's very awkward doing bread and cakes in something with a big hole in the middle!
Hand mixer does a great job, just hurts your arm frown

I've been looking at what I believe is the middle model in the Kitchen Aid Range.

It comes with (as all of them do)

2 bowls
2 blades
Egg Whip
3 Discs
Spatual
Accessory Case

Plus

Citrus Press
Julienne Disc

They look to be around the £245 - £270 dependent upon colour.

Ohh that copper one is a thing of beauty!

The Kitchen aid set up is good, two bowls is a bonus as it saves constantly washing, moving things from one bowl to another.

I've also just used the mincer on my Kenwood and that is great as well, I'd highly recommend one, it's a good way to use up cooked meat (although I'm mincing an odd raw chicken breast out off the freezer into burgers)

It was the mincer that tipped us into a new Kenwood and attachments rather than the old hand mixer that I had been using. The plastic mincers are carp in my view and the old metal ones had to be clamped on to a work surface and none of our work tops had sufficient overhang.

I was very close to buying the Kitchen aid set up but just couldn't justify the additional cost over the Kenwood.

LOL...your £100 food processor purchase has just got bigger hasn't it biggrin

I had a Kenwood FP 96<something> and it was pretty good. It came with all the toys but, as the reviews on Amazon belatedly warned me, the plastic/acrylic bits aren't that tough. Cheap enough to replace, I suppose.

I have replaced it (and a juicer) with a Magimix 4200, which seems much more solid. Quieter, too.

There is also a food processor attachment http://www.electricshopping.com/shop/kenwood/kenwo...

You can get the bowl in copper as well.

Yes, I'm tragic.

Go nicely with a set of copper baumalau pans and a matt black and copper Le Corneau Grand 180 Oven.

Whilst we're dreaming.

I'll try agree as I made a cock up of the quoting.

Tis very sexy and would look good with the copper bowl.
