The missus and I are starting to get quite a taste for the place now, looking for some dining advice from those in the know.

We're staying at the Millenium Grosvenor Sq, looking for a really good Italian restaurant in Mayfair or close by. Michelin star(s) ideal, but not a necessity.

Thanks for any advice.

No, as a rule we find it entertaining to being with, but when we grow up we realise that despite the culture, it's still just a big stiny sthole full of s.... so we leave

easy peasy - Don't know it. Sounds a bit downmarket.

Locanda Locatelli - I've heard mixed - you'd rate?

No, i've been back a few times and they're all still there. If anything they've multiplied.

It's a possibility. I can't tell, they all look the same to me smile

There used to be a liitle Italian fish place down one of the streets off TCR, i think it was called Pescatori. Twas a tiny place but nice grub.

edit: ooh look it's still there, and they have one on mayfair now too http://www.pescatori.co.uk/ it was about 1997/8 i went there last though

Locanda Locatelli is very good.

Carluccio's also good, though there are lots of them now; try the one at St Christopher's Place if you do the inevitable Selfridges trip.

Down another step are the various 'proper' chains: Zizzi, Ask, Strada will all give you a decent lunch without breaking the bank.

Zafferano in Belgravia. Park outside the Turkish Embassy in Belgrave Square and you get a free armed guard (one of our BiB).

I did until I started getting advice from PH.

It seems it's actually one of the best cities in the world, as long as you don't wander far from Mayfair and spend flipping great wadges of cash.

Whereabouts is Locanda Locatelli Ric?
