Possible gathering
Discussion
Not being a great wine aficionado I had a chat to my dad today and he is due his monthly wine delivery. I asked him to get me a mixed crate of red and white I am also bringing a couple of bottles of champers (MC can drink it in the garden )
As he is on the way (hour away on a 4 1/2 trip), ill take a break and pick up the crate then. I also picked up a 7kg bag of Webber briquettes, that should keep us going for a while.
Was eyeing up a pork belly when I picked up the briquettes but hope to pick up something similar locally.

Ladies and gents
Sad to say, I am almost guaranteed non-attendance due to the need to reassemble the car ahead of an impending driving holiday.
I should get the heads back from the workshop this Saturday morning (God willing) which means I can feasibly have the engine fully reassmebled by Sunday afternoon. I think. It will then be a case of slotting it back into the car and bolting everything back together.
If I work like a madman every evening next week, I could possibly still make it to Wales, but I'll have to really play it by ear as I'd rather not rush and cock something up.
Just letting you know...

Thanks Paul, but timing is the issue.
I'm booked and paid on a driving holiday in 3 weeks time, so I really need to have it all done and dusted by then. Probably a doddle for some poeple but for me, reassembling and engine then sticking it back in the car and getting it up and running is going to be a logistical and timing challenge.
As I said, if by some miracle I can get it together in time to come to Wales, I shall do, even if only for a day or 2 as a shakedown run.

Drew, I am happy to lend a hand if it helps getting your girl back on the road any quicker. I am handy with spanners...I'm booked and paid on a driving holiday in 3 weeks time, so I really need to have it all done and dusted by then. Perhaps I'm being a bit simplistic, but can't you get a fellow local PH'er expert mechanic to help you with your car.
As this gathering was your idea in the first place, would be a pity if you missed it.
Have enlisted the help of a few PH mates to try and expidite the process, but there's only so many favours one can call upon.As this gathering was your idea in the first place, would be a pity if you missed it.
And yes, the irony of my missing things had occurred to me, however I would hope you all have fun regardless of my attendance or otherwise.

Cheers Stu. Let me see if I actually get the heads back on Saturday morning then we can go from there. Once the heads and timing belts are on, the rest is fairly straight forward as I've done it before.Trust me, I definitely want to go to Wales but I also want to take the car around Scotland.

Straight forward still takes time! I can pop up into town and help with the basic monkey work if needed. Trust me, I definitely want to go to Wales but I also want to take the car around Scotland.
What is wrong with her?

Cylinder heads are definitely NOT going to be ready ths weekend, which means I am stuffed. Unless there is a monumental cock up and they're not ready by the long weekend either, in which case I'll be there after all.
Sorry.
Sorry.

Didn't really understand that post ...but are you saying you're a definate no?
I got the opposite. If the heads are not there then he can't use them so work on the car grinds to a halt and might as well go to Wales.Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
