I'm sat here eating an exceptional example of Britians best post beer food.
It's huge Loads of donner meat and slices of chicken that look, and taste, like chicken and properly HOT!!.
Fresh crisp salad, and on a naan bread
Even if I don't manage it all tonight, it's from one of the few places where it's still good in the morning. No puddles of oil or greace!! I avoid the sauces for this reason as well. Pop the remnants in the microwave for breakfast.
Well done Star, Oxford Rd, Reading.
Any more examples of the best beer food out there?

I honestly can't recall the last time I had a kebab that hit the spot. Infact it is very rarely I have a kebab at all for this reason.
Local to me, some are simply dreadful beyond comprehension bordering on criminally bad. Rubbery gristley tasteless lukewarm meat served in a slop of manky salad and pisshead hot sauce that even Satan would gag at. I nearly threw a kebab back across the counter at a chap once it was that bad. Particular reference to town centres too where what they are serving I wouldn't give to my dog. Others locally are much better, but still far from 'a good kebab'.
It's not hard, but half the reason for crap kebabs is poor quality meat to keep costs down and profits up coupled with stale sides. They get away with it because the stereotypical kebab eater has usually just drunk enough lager to fell a horse and can barely stand let alone taste food as they shovel it into their mouth before throwing the packaging at a passing taxi and swanning off for a fight....
I travel to Turkey once a year for a proper kebab. It's the only place I seem to be able to get a proper kebab, and even then I have to be picky about where I eat sometimes.
Crispy tasty doner meat, chicken that isn't so fatty it's chewy, proper chilli sauce and a salad that was cut minutes before not days before serving.

Large Mixed Kebab from my local - skewer each of chicken shish, lamb shish and kofta topped up with a huge serving of doner and doused in extra hot chilli sauce in a large foil tray with pitta on the side and a seperate carton of salad with garlic mayo and pickled chillis on top.
Or if I'm back up in the midlands, there is an indian kebab house in Bearwood that does a huge naan topped with a skewer of chicken tikka, lamb tikka, chicken doner, lamb doner and a piece of tandoori chicken on top with salad and a big squirt of raita.
