Right.

I have some smoked salmon at home that needs using tonight. What can I do with it for a main course for two people? I thought about maybe something pasta-based, but can anyone recommend something a bit more interesting?

Cheers

No. As far as I'm aware smoked salmon is for sandwiches, adding to scrambled eggs or the pasta dish which use you could only think of.

Fish pie?

I think if you ate a whole portion just of smoked salmon you'd be sick, it's too rich. How about freezing what you can't eat?

I think you're right.

Lemon, Parmesan, & Smoked Salmon Linguine it is then.

Cheers!

I've heard that some people even put veg on the plate too

I'm not sure that people will carry on with this sort of thing, it's sounds very unorthodox

I use smoked salmon and king prawns in a Pasta Marinara dish:

Snip up the smoked salmon into bite size pieces with a pair of scissors.

Fry up onions, garlic and sundried tomato puree in some good olive oil, add the already cooked prawns and smoked salmon snippings and take off the heat.

Serve on top of spaghetti.

The smoked salmon sets a little from the heat of the onions and tomato puree. Mmmm.

Quick, easy, tasty.

biggrin Salmon en Croute is usually for fresh salmon...the OP asked for a smoked salmon dish, which as it is usually sold as thin slices wouldn't really be suitable for your choice of dish...unless you had come up with a really good recipe for paper thin smoked salmon.

where has he said it's been sliced?

your perception skills must be working overtime, well done

I know it's pasta but; some fresh tagliatelle in plenty of butter and for the sauce in a frying pan - a smidgen of garlic, black pepper, chopped dill and a tiny bit of tarrgon (it's powerful) the smoked salmon sliced into small bits, add some vodka and flash off the alcohol, then add enough creme fraiche to make enough sauce to cover the pasta. Couldn't be easier.

Cheers! It was very simple to make, and I've got half a pack of the smoked salmon left so I'll make it again no doubt thumbup
