A pint in a pub called the Tambray, in a crappy little town called Karratha in Western Australia costs A$14 which works out to about 8.5 British Pounds. I'm not joking

Depends what you class as normal. One of the pubs in Courchevel used to charge 22 euros for a pint in 2005! That's, what, £18?

Over three quid is the norm round for a beer round here (North London) and I've paid over a fiver for a pint of cider in central London.

... and they wonder why people aren't going to pubs as much. rolleyes I can get 8 cans of lager from the off-license or 2 pints of pub lager that tastes terrible.
Are you saying you prefer cans to draught?

TBH my most shockingly expensive pint experience have been in other European countries.

But a pint of premium lager can easily topple £4 in most bars down my way. Pubwise, I paid £3.75 for a Becks Vier in a chain pub last weekend.

The standard in edinburgh is about £3 minimum up to well over £4 in some places. My standard Guiness or Bow is usually about £3.50.

Was in the Thistle St Bar though recently. Red Stipe and a Peroni £7.80!

I'm sure the you can get beer of sorts in Wetherspoons for about £1.70? I know, I know, Wetherspoons are awful places. The only one I go to really is the one near the ground on matchday.
£1.39 a pint for various real ales and cloudy ciders just up the road last night as part of their 'beer festival'... can't really complain to be honest, atmospheres not great and it's too dark but the beers interesting, well kept and very cheap...!
Yep, I've always found them reasonable places to be for short periods of time. Obviously the cheap prices attract the 'wrong' kind of people, but they're ok to start a session off smile

£5 for a pint of peroni seems pretty common these days.

Theyre taking the piss because of how the wages are up there.

Last time I was in the Windsor in South Perth, a bottle of Corona was $8.50. Perth thinks its Monaco.

The most expensive pint i've had was in Temple bar in Dublin, about 8-11 euros depending what time it was. Bobbing Rastads.

I pay 2.20 at my local student squeeze, but when I'm bothered to walk to my proper local, Moonshine (Local Sheffield Brew) is about 2.70 a pint.

More than happy to pay that.

Dublin was relatively expensive. Some of the 'Oirish' pubs in Temple bar were charging over £6 a pint a few years back.
