Hi All,

Not sure if this should be in here or not, oh well here goes anyway.

Recently a friend moved out to Boston to get married, now as he likes his real ale I thought a good little present would be a small keg of beer/a few bottles of the stuff.

It looks like shipping it to the US is a mine field, with some companies saying its illegal/they will not carry it, whilst some people seem to think its okay.
Does anyone know if there is a good shipping company that will take beer to Boston, or can I chuck a few bottles in my hold luggage? I've just checked BA they seem to think carrying it in hold luggage is okay. I'd still like to ship some out if anyone has any advice!

Or does anyone know of a local Boston brewery that will deliver to his house?

Thanks in advance!

Kegs are pressurised vessels so that is most likely why the delivery companies wont touch it but the bottles I see no reason why you cant unless there is a limit on how much you can take before you have to pay tax, duty etc.

Sounds like a bad idea to me.

Hand luggage is out and in the case sounds like a recipe for a mess and a hauling before customs to me.

Bottles and stuff are not a problem, kegs probably will be however. Exporting it / importing it is ok for personal stuff, few more hoops to jump through for commercial stuff.

I just took a few bottles over recently, and have a pallet full en route as we speak smile
