Peperoncino

May not be the correct term, but - basically - chilli peppers stuffed with tuna preserved in a jar of olive oil.
Mmm, where can I source these delights from?

yum

Biltong.

Obviously the famous South African product, but also Estonian pork biltong (yes, I know how that sounds), and Swedish salmon biltong (likewise).

All heavenly. Trust me.

It's great on sausage sandwiches too! or pretty much anything, I add it while I'm cooking meals especially things like chili which can be a bit tomato-y and bland without.

If you are into hot chilies try growing some also, they are very easy to grow if you have a window or somewhere warm to place them. I have about 10 varieties of chilli and pepper plant I'm growing at the moment, including scotch bonnets and a couple will produce really really fruity but amazingly hot peppers. It's hard to explain taste but they were like a fiery version of that old UmBongo fruit drink. I like going outside and picking off a couple to eat with a slice of cheddar and crusty bread and add them to curries but they are also a good form of entertainment after a few beers to see how mates who like hot food cope with the hottest ones.

Goat's cheese.
Absolutely. But it needs to be - for me, anyway - a proper flip-top-head goats cheese. Most restaurants I've visited, and where I've had a goats cheese starter, use rather insipid stuff. What they need to use is some of this:

This, grilled on some toasted garlic ciabatta, with a redcurrant and balsamic reduction and rocket leaves is just lick

What are the foods you just have to eat straight from the jar or tin or straight from the tub?

Mine is malt extract. It was a childhood treat of mine and I still can;t get enough of the sticky, gooey mess that is a twirling tablespoon of good malt extract. Instant bliss on a spoon.
Parmigiano - I'm addicted to it!

Jaffa Cakes. By the box full, it's almost an addiction, though I've managed to abstain recently on a health kick. Crikey, I miss that orange-choclatley-spongey goodness..

Chilli flakes go in alot of food I make at home.
