I've been telling my OH for years that a grilled chicken kebab, loads of salad, pitta and lashings of chili sauce was healthy - she's never agreed.

It is, right? You're not pulling my leg? I can have a chicken kebab for dinner this evening without guilt?
Sounds like she needs to mind her own f cuking business.
fking women. Mine told me I was an alcoholic the other day. Sadly I was too pissed at the time to formulate a coherent response.

for all those on the "white spirits are lo-cal" boat, do note that alcohol itself is calories. Your body processes it in a very similar way to fat, hence if you drink a lot of it, you put on weight.

I took the brown paper bag off first though.

Chicken. Not fried. No skin. Just marinated and grilled chicken.

That dirty kebab can still be on even for those on a diet!

Microwave popcorn.

Avoid the buttered stuff, and you have a high-fibre, low-fat source of carbohydrate.

Do not confuse a proper shish with the fatty gash on the rotating stick though. Even when sozzled, make sure you point at the one in the chiller on a metal pole.

Why not just "normal" popcorn? Available raw from all supermarkets, you cook it in a pan on the hob, usually quicker than the microwave stuff.

Because it generally requires a lot of oil to avoid sticking and burning. As for quicker, there's no way that's true - tear the packet, and then whack in the microwave for 3mins. No faffing, nothing to clean, nothing to actually open.

Needs absolutely zero oil. Zero. Seriously. Dry pan, gas on, popcorn in. Once cooked there's bugger all to clean as well. Why are you putting oil in it? Weird.

The BK chicken burger is available in Liverpool Street, and is griddled not fried and available with no mayo. About half the cals of a Whopper, although chips are chips, whether with chicken or beef based burgers biggrin

I'm no culinary retard (far from it, in fact), but my first few attempts at 'homemade' popcorn culminated in 'burnt offerings' in the bottom of a non-stick pan, irrespective of temperature. What on earth could I have been doing so badly wrong?

I accept that other substitutes are available, but I rather like the convenience factor of the microwave stuff - plus, there's enough in the typical packet to share between 2-3.

Drinks are in London and I will be going home via Liverpool street station so what's the best bet??
There is a nice Iranian chap that sells hotdogs off a cart by the Station. Very healthy and quick to make. The guy always knows when people are going to want one as you never have to wait more than 10-20 seconds for one to 'just finish cooking'
