I like a bit of heat, but this is the hottest and most unbearable thing I've ever tasted. I tried the tiniest little dab on my finger half an hour ago and I still can't feel my face!

Don't be soft plotters, that's only 400x hotter than tabasco.

I do sometimes wonder if these Scoville ratings are becoming a bit like the contrast ratio claims that flat screen TV manufacturers make... i.e. completely meaningless in the real world

I am growing several types of chillies and have thought about turning the scotch bonnet into a sauce.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will keep?

My BiL often comes around and helps himself to pizza etc, I had thought about putting them on there instead of the jalapeno biggrin

I've successfully grown Dorset Naga chilis for two years running but didn't bother this year. They were from seeds on Ebay. Mindbendingly hot and much more fierce than bottled sauce. A different kind of heat, more aggressive. If you want me to post you any let me know.

I have some Dragon's Blood and it is ridiculous. A tiny drop in anything and it's all you can taste.

I got back from a Pirate party, (after a horrific taxi journey), and due to one too many Smirnoff ices I had an healthy does of Dutch courage! My so called friends fed me the chilli on a piece of bread and sat back and watch the ‘hilarious’ show unfold. It felt as thou I had swallowed molten magma and it had got stuck in my ear canals. When I opened my mouth it felt like someone was putting a pair of hair straightners on my tongue!!! I the pain was so great I was unable to speak for up to 40mins, and the dribble was uncontrollable. I vow never to be so stupid ever again!! The less said about the morning the better! I would like to dedicate this review to Eliza, Ben, Harry, Janna, Piers and Rosalie- Thank you !

anything above Dave's Insanity Sauce really is quite silly. No flavour. Just heat.

Unless you are cooking a chilli for 20 poeople, or are using it for a prank / dare i cant see the point. Looking at everything above 1,000,000 its just pepper extract (pure cap). Which is what pepper spray is. Thats not a condiment, its a weapon!

I've done the 'eating raw chillies' thing and still do eat green finger chillies on occasion - some of these are seriously (and almost addictively) hot, but my dab of Mad Dog 357 felt like I'd taken a swig of caustic soda.

Oh I don't doubt that some of the bottled sauces are hotter but comparing a similar scoville intensity in sauce form to raw fresh chili gives a different feel. Both volcanic, but different.

The scary thing about Mad Dog is how immediately intense the heat is; now that Plotters has posted up that list, my MD357 is a bit of a Blackburn Rovers compared to the top rankers.

Why?
Because I like hot chillis.

Tobasco doesn't touch the sides so 1 or 2 drops of a proper hot sauce in a 4kg mince based chilli should be about right I suspect.

Anything above 700'000 is no longer a condiment.
IIRC they class the '700,000 The Slap Heard Around the World' as the hottest condiment on earth.

I gave a girl I know about a fifth of a teaspoon.
Oh how I laughed... until she started crying redface

Perhaps I'm being naiive, I don't know, never tried this chilli sauce lunacy stuff but 1 drop in 4kgs of mince, 8 cans of tomatoes and 2 tins of beans would seem to be a relatively good 'dilution'.

Famous last words but it can't be that bad, can it?
