As a matter of interest, what would you consider to be a fair price?
Well this is what I was looking at this weekend before seeing your post.https://ceramicgrillstore.com/products/meat-stick-...
I think I would be happy to pay £30 plus delivery charge but I will admit I am oblivious to the cost of the type of steel you have stated.
If it could be shown that the required grade of steel would make £30 a non starter then I think I could be persuaded to spend more up to a max of £50

That's just plain showing off, mine will not be so grand but its ready to get shipped to the house now.
The rebate is for a granite chopping block to sit into.
Beautiful. The workmanship looks excellent! The rebate is for a granite chopping block to sit into.
Have you considered a wooden chopping block inset? Granite will blunt your knives (although will look amazing)

Have you got the name of the guy who made these for you? They look awesome.,
I have been dealing with Colin Adair at Woodland Sawmill, can't speak highly enough of them, very responsive and great with photographic updates.https://www.facebook.com/woodlandsawmill/
I first found them on Ebay add but I have been dealing with them directly.

Yeah i did consider a dark hardwood for the contrast but decided I wanted somewhere I can set down hot stuff also from the grill without burning the wood.Have you considered a wooden chopping block inset? Granite will blunt your knives (although will look amazing)
In reality I will probably have a portable carving board out also. I also wanted to break up the big open wooden area with some contrast and match the black monolith egg. i will update with some more photos when its all set up in a week or so more.

I had a table built last year too, and as whenever I light the egg it starts to rain, I asked the guy to put an umbrella sized hole underneath the chopping board.
That's awesome. Out of curiosity, where do you store yours? I'm assuming covered in a Shed? I might have to get one for the next house, which means i'll have a good excuse for a shed...That umbrella hole is a great idea. While we're doing BBQ places, here's my Smoke Shack...
