Nowt wrong with a pint (or two) in the lunchtime, especially in the summertime - nicely washes down the lunch and that. drink

All day drinking is brilliant. No time limit, no rush, steady drinking, looking around the pub seeing people on lunch breaks knowing that they'll be going back to work and you'll be sitting there getting slowly merry.

Not being arsed to move and having your evening meal there also when you've already eaten lunch and sometimes breakfast in the same place!

Just had a nice lunch sat outside (Pilot Inn, North Greenwich) that would have been rendered perfect by a few pints. Unfortunately back to the office which has a zero-tolerance policy on lunchtime refreshments.

I hate drinking in daylight.
Bizarrely it gives me instant hangovers and I feel st by about 6 even if I've only had a couple.
Not really sure why I said that.
What a poof.
Predictable, but unlike you I don't need to be in bed by 9pm with my "wife" Roger.
Instead, I go out and drink from 7 until dawn before de-skinning prostitutes like a proper man.

Having spent all day working on an install on a pub, spending a fair bit of time in the sun on the rooftop garden i have got home all ready to enjoy a few afternoon beers before the mrs gets home. Just as im about to crack open the first one phone rings "You need to drive me to the shops after work tonight" fking brilliant. Can't wait until she's learnt to drive...

I like Boris' take on the topic of lunchtime drinking:

"After two pints you feel ever so slightly superb."

You are. Surely. Unless you're going to go to sleep.
Oh ok.

i was just trying to rebuff the acsusation of being acoholic
If you were an alcoholic you wouldn't be enthusing on PH about afternoon drinking. You'd be too pissed by the afternoon to switch your PC on. Enjoy your day, safe in the knowledge that you're simply a happy pisshead. Like all the best people wink

Blimey, onto the Sean Connery impressions already? I thought they were usually saved for post 7pm whiskeys!

Me too. Never seems to stop me though!

I rode my bike to work today to ensure i didn't sneak out early for a few. I am new getting tempted by cold guiness and floral dresses cloud9
I now have an indelible impression of a bloke wearing a floral dress, downing a pint.

Thanks for that, you .
Whatever floats your boat old chap. I have been told I scrub up well and have a killer set of pins.

Great isn't it?

But why?

I seem to get a warm feeling (not my piss bag leaking) that only drinking before 5pm can give.
Never really done this. But then I don't drink much booze full stop. In a Beer Garden I am quite happy with an ice cold coke.
