As a student I've done a fair bit of afternoon drinking, usually turns into an all night thing as well. Once you start there is no point stopping and now the summer in here get a BBQ going in the evening and then head out to a pub/club to carry on.

I'm working from home at the moment and just had a guzzle whilst on the conference call and then panic'd that the mute button wasn't on .. luckily it was or else glug glug glug would have been heard.

If you were an alcoholic you wouldn't be enthusing on PH about afternoon drinking. You'd be too pissed by the afternoon to switch your PC on. Enjoy your day, safe in the knowledge that you're simply a happy pisshead. Like all the best people wink
Permission to print that off and take it with me to the Doctor's.
just remember to tell your doc that alcoholism is a sickness and therefore he should write you a certificate.

Its the best. Especially when sunny and ESPECIALLY when you have some manly jobs to do around the house that require you to stand over them with an ice cold beer and ponder the best way to execute the task. I call it "thinking juice". The Missus sears that Im an alcoholic.

Doctors are amongst the biggest alchoholic professsions, I can't see him disagreeing with that (well, unless he's a hypocrite!)....

This weather brings back very fond memories of Uni frown I remember in my second year during the summer Kronenburg Blanc was the tipple of choice...perfect beer garden with excellent people watching potential....table of good mates...endless cold pints...oh to be a student again wink

s'okay.

I don't think it's weather related.....I get a 'high' from drinking in the afternoon that evening drinking can't give.

Sunny day-time drinking is best, in a quiet, dark cool, city pub knowing that out there the workers are slaving and sweating while you swig cold lager.

Paradise.

dunno.

It's just a fact.

As soon as I have a sip I can feel it rushing through my veins and I get a buzz from it.

Evening drinking just doesn't give the same effect.

Can you beat an afternoon pint??

I'm about to find out.....my home brew is ready.
Granted, the first batch looked and smelt like piss-virtually undrinkable
The second batch was better, far clearer and much more beer like
The third batch was as clear as a pub pint, tasted average
The fourth was great- clear, nice aroma, but the drawback of being fairly lethal- 4 pints and I was away.

So, batch 5. I have leant from previous mistakes, the recipe has been tweaked, it's been stored as it should have been. It's been decanted into old grolsch bottles, sugar added, it's looking clear, slightly fizzy, and I have 18 bottles to drink.

So-
mrs emsman out - check
hammock ready - check
glorious sunshine- check

it's now officially cold home brew time.
Have a happy afternoon everyone

I'm on a detox after last week. 8 days of daytime drinking. And evening drinking. And night drinking.
